Fat Burning Acai Smoothie

 

I have been making this incredible smoothie with all the power ingredients I could find and let me tell you this one is a keeper. If one drinks this every day, not only will you be able to cleans out your body, but you will be a fat burning machine! This smoothie is a perfect treat for breakfast and it will leave you very full, you can also drink this for a power kick an hour before your workout routine.

This smoothie has good carbs, perfect amount of  protein, great amount of vitamins, antioxidants and good healthy fats or what I call the perfect meal.

The ingredients:

  • One glass of ice
  • One glass of water
  • One packet of Pure Acai ( I purchase unsweetened pure Acai packets from Whole Foods )
  • One Bowl Of Organic Spinach
  • Two Organic Eggs
  • One Scoop of Whey Isolate Protein ( 25 g )
  • One Tablespoon Of Coconut Oil
  • Four Tablespoons Of Aloe Vera Juice ( Organic not from concentrate )
  • One Banana

Blend it al in a blender and trust me after you drink this you will fill happy as a camper and will be running laps ;).

A little bit about the ingredients: Acai berry contains antioxidants and amino acids that improve the digestive system, helping your body to get rid of waste and improve the function of your metabolism. It contains Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron and Calcium, it is considered to be a complete food. Here is a great article about Acai Berry.

I’ve already written about the benefits of Aloe Vera Juice, what I love about this juice is that it helps your body with absorbing the nutrients, so you get more out of your Acai ;).

I’ve also written about the the Benefits of the Coconut Oil, this oil is perceived by the body as an energy source and not as fat, it is digested quickly before it has the chance to stick to your thighs. Coconut Oil gives you energy and helps to regulate your metabolism and regulate your appetite as well.

You already know why I drink Whey Isolate Protein, because it is considered the best protein absorbed by the body, it is also rated as the highest quality protein.

Organic Eggs is also a great source of protein and they also help to speed up your metabolism. I believe since eggs are a whole food, mixing them with Whey Isolate will make the meal more complete.

And of course I am sure you already know about spinach and bananas :) – now go play and enjoy your fat burning smoothie!

    This is the 3rd day in a row that I have started my day with this smoothie (with the exception of the raw egg…I can’t get my mind to accept eating an egg raw…) and this is truly a good combo.  Today I ran out of greens, so I used Italian flat leaf parsley, because it is the ONLY green I have in my refrigerator today.  I can choke things down for the sake of health, but I was pleasantly surprised by this combo.  I put a small handful in it and oh man, it was tasty.  Also, I put a bunch of fresh pineapple.  But everything else was the same.  Mmm…mmm :)

      Yam, I eat so much pineapple it’s crazy.  Most of the time I eat a whole one per day :).  Raw egg is actually very beneficial, you won’t even taste it in the shake.  My skating trainer use to make me eat them before and after our trainings to put on muscle.

        I will try the raw egg someday…If you have been eating raw egg for all these years and it hasn’t killed you, I’m sure I’ll be ok ;-)
        How do you eat a whole pineapple a day??  My tongue gets SO sore from the bromelain.  I love pineapple, and I read good things about it nutritionally, but a WHOLE one?? LOL, my tongue would burn off :-)

          I think I’m use to it already :), I’ve been eating a whole one for months now, I never feel the burn in my mouth.

          Hey Alishis! If you are concerned about the raw egg, apparently it’s the shell that is the most concerning, so if you wash it before you crack it, that will help a lot! Sorry to interrupt your conversation with Tatianna! :)

            Tee_w, That’s good to know.  I am going to try it, but not with the conventional eggs I normally buy.  For raw consumptoin, I think I’ll buy the expensive organic, free range eggs.  To your health! :)

    So I’ve made this a couple of times now (minus the egg), but last time something weird happened… maybe it had to do with the coconut oil getting too warm in my house (as it had turned clear), cause once I blended it all up, the consistency was like fluffy whipped cream! Had to scoop it all out. :p

      Interesting, I’ve never had that happen, my coconut oils is always warm. Was it still good?

        I moved it to a cooler room (could have been near 90 where it was), but it looks normal again so I think it’s fine. :)

        Next time though, I’ll use that to my advantage and whip up something dessert-like… maybe banana/coconut cream. :D

          I would love a dessert right now, but it’s the middle of the week and I need to be good, I’m doing a second day of intermittent fasting, I love it so far it’s almost the same as my not eating 6 hours before bed. But only 2 hours difference.
