Lower Body Workout

Hello my Lovies,

I’m happy to be adding another lower body routine to my little collection here at Loving Fit. This routine consists of 2 exercise combos, and more simple exercises. I’ve only used one 10 lbs dumbbell in the first combo of this workout, but you don’t really need to, because it’s challenging on it’s own. This workout will look simple, but trust me its a killer!

For Newbies

If you are new to Loving Fit I recommend to check out ” Creating Your Workout Plan ” post. There you will be able to see how I put together my routines, and you can find something for your own fitness level. My philosophy is: Form is always more important than speed, so WATCH YOUR FORM!
Another thing that I really recommend all of my beginners to check out, is my post review called on What Is The Beta Switch. I think this plan is quite amazingly put together for someone who is just starting out and need a lot of guidance. I’m not a beginner and I found so much useful info learning from Beta Switch Program.

For Complete Beginners I really suggest to check out my review-post about The Beta Switch. This is an amazing program for complete beginners with tips and guidance not only about working out, but also nutrition and keeping your mind on track.

Workout Explanation

For this routine I was using my gym boss timer, and one 10 lbs dumbbell, but the dumbbell is just a preference to add extra challenge.

Set your timer as a stopwatch and complete 2 rounds of the following in good exercise form:

  • Double Tap Back Lunge & Pistol Combo – 15 sets / side
  • Side Lunge Knee Up – 30 reps / side
  • Twist Jump & 2 Slide Under Knee Ups Combo – 30 sets
  • Chair Jump Squats – 40 reps

Enjoy your training!

Love,

Tati

Thanks Tati! This workout is just what I needed for today! But, I miss how you used to include approximately how long it took you to complete your workouts. It helps me decide if I can fit a particular workout of yours into my schedule. Some of your workouts can take a looong time you know ;).

What I particularly enjoyed about this workout was the stretching it included with all of the knee up holds. I realized how much that can add to a workout — just that little move brings big results. While I was performing each move, I was imagining you doing it and that helped me to concentrate on form. If performed with good form, these are killer moves. They felt so good! Thank you for this routine! I loved it.

This looks awesome! Thank you! I might do this on the weekend, however, I will probably switch pistol squats to one leg surrenders. (Or whatever they´re called. =D ) I can do pistols, but somehow I don´t feel them as well on my butt as some other exercises, maybe because I have quads domination. Or maybe I just suck with them! =D Have a great weekend, Tati, and all of you!

So just finished this one. Was having one of those “I don’t feel like working out” days. So put this off till late- but I did it. Time of 45:18. Used the 10 lb dumbbell. Used it on my shoulder for the double lunge tap. Then held it out front for the 1-leg squat.
Wow. What a workout. For only 4 exercises and two rounds -This was hard.

Thank you so much for sharing !! ??

Hey there Tat! I’m attending to do this workout, so just out of curiosity so I have an idea – how lond did it take you? Thank you and Merry Christmas to you, by the way 🙂

  • Rosalmeida

OK!, so I did this today. I didn’t do the recommended amount of repetitions (in general I was doing less – about half or even less of the given repetitions for each exercise). I followed my own failure and also I rested for as long or as little as I felt to, but I added a 11lbs weight for the entire third exercise (Twist Jump…) though. I used a 11lbs weight for the first exercise but I was dropping it before the pistols. Side lunges performed correctly are a killer, so for that one I didn’t use any weight (nor for the jump squats) 😉 This being said, the two rounds took me 17 min. and 30 sec. I loved this workout!
