Bodyweight Workout

 

Hello my beautiful lovelies :)

Today’s routine workout routine was focused on the lower body and it was a requested routine with no equipment and bodyweight only :) .  Don’t fear for your life, it’s gonna be tough but very doable :) .  This type of routine would be perfect if you are gonna travel and can’t bring along any equipment, and sometimes it’s just good to switch it up and not use any equipment.

It was on of those very tough days for me, I’m not sure if you can tell in the video or not but I was a bit off my rocker, ( blame it on the gardener LOL ).  Seriously I can’t wait for the day till someone invents a quiet tree cutting machine and quiet airplane.  Every few minutes there was a gardner passing by with one of those noise makers followed by an airplane, yep it was that kind of a filming day, LOL.

As always don’t forget to do your warm-up, just because this is a bodyweight workout doesn’t mean you can be slacking on your warm-up or the proper form.  Proper Exercise Form is always better then speed.

 

 

Workout Explanation

Set your timer as a stopwatch, this workout is a circuit training and there is 3 rounds total of the following sequence:

 

  • Side Lunge Knee Up & Back Lunge Knee Up – Right Leg – 20 reps ( both count as one rep ) ( Beginners will only do 10 reps )
  • Side Lunge Knee Up & Back Lunge Knee Up – Left Leg – 20 reps
  • One Leg Jump Up – Right Leg – 15 reps ( Beginners will only do 5-10 without jumping )
  • One Leg Jump Up – Left Leg – 15 reps
  • Shoulder Width Heel Bridges – 30 reps
  • Full Body Squat & Knee-up – 50 reps ( beginners will do 20 reps )
  • Wide Heel Bridges – 30 reps

 

My Time for this workout was 32 minutes and 51 sec.  After the workout I completed 15 minutes of cardio with the skipping rope,  while barely feeling my legs.

 

 Nutrition Tip -

Today’s nutrition tip is a bit controversial not for me but for the dairy companies.  You see cow’s dairy doesn’t really get’s digested by our body, yet the dairy companies big business keeps promoting dairy as a healthy product, but that’s very far from the truth.  If your goal is to loose weight then cutting out dairy is the first thing you should do, because just by cutting out all the dairy products in your nutrition will alone help you loose 5 lbs without changing anything else.

    Lots of thnx for this bodyweight routine! I’ll be looking forward to more workouts without equipment, coz I’m supposed to travel a lot, so taking even smallest items of equipment along with me is quite a problem, bodyweight workouts are a great solution.

    thanks for this wo! i can choose if to do it bodyweight or with weights. everything is adjustable for everyone’s needs. ciaoo my time was 35.39 bodyweight i was tired at the last round cause yesterday i did the spartacus wo instead of a rest day, (sometimes i am tempted to overtrain lol) however i decided to go out for a walk.byee

    That was my first workout after one week of recovery. And it took 34 min 22 sec. it seemed so easy but in the end my legs were shaking. Thank you again, Tatianna for a great workout. )))

      They always look easy don’t they :) , I thought the same thing cause I’m pretty advanced my self, but omg today my legs and bum is so sore I can’t even believe it.

    Fantastic workout. It is warming up outside here in Canada so it was nice to have a workout to do outside for a change. I choose to do the beginner level as I have now learned that your workouts are tough but oh so good! : ) It took me 30 min. 40 sec. Thanks.

      Yeah the workouts are always tougher then they look, it is nice to just be able to go anywhere to do it, that’s why I love bodyweight workouts.  Tomorrow we are filming bodyweight only for the upper body, I’m gonna come up with something super fun and creative :) .

    Hi Tatiana, about a week ago I discovered your videos on youtube and decided to check out your website. I really like your website you have a lot information and you explain everything. I also have tried some of your workouts and they get me really sweating. I found you because i really like Zuzanas Light workouts and yours are familiar. I use to be in shape but because of my job i stooped working out and i turned to junk food; I’m on my journey to start eating healthy and getting back in shape.My pants no longer fit and I developed a muffin top is so uncomfortable. Enough of the complaining I decided to do something about and I’m here fallowing your workouts and Zuzanas also eating healthy; but I feel like my morning workout are waste. See i wake up at 6 am to workout I get my breakfast,lunch,and dinner ready. Here come the problem I work long hours from 10am to 9pm. My job is not active there not much i can do most times i have to be seated. Its pretty annoying here and there i try to do squats, jumping jacks, practicing the one leg suat(pistols) they are so hard. But i work at a store so I got customers constantly coming in and is a small store there’s no where to walk to or anything or even clean to keep busy. Do you have any advise on what i can do? By the way i did the only bodyweight workout in 32:54 it was hard but i enjoyed it. It was hard.

      Hi there :) ,

      Yeah it’s pretty tough to be active on a sitting job, but you can definitely do something about it.  Every hour try to take a few minute bathroom break and in those few minutes do some stretching.  This will really help to increase the circulation in your body.  Another little challenge you can do is every hour, drink one glass of water with lemon in it.  This will speed up your metabolism and help to clear any toxins you have in your body, coupled with stretching it will do wonders to your body.

    Thank you for replying. I will be doing that even though the restrooms i use are public but I don’t care for strange looks. Im doing it for me. I also wanted to ask you one more thing since I see you have a beauty blog, I like how you use natural stuff for skin care. So here is my question what would you recommend to even out skin tone not so much for the face but the body? I noticed you have really nice even skin tone. Over the summer i got sunburn and it does not look nice. I’m almost you skin color and my arms are darker than my legs i don’t like it. Also when i got sunburn at the beach i was wearing shorts and you can see the line is not sexy at all.

      Hi :) ,

      I would recommend aloe vera, but the real one.  When you go to the store, some stores would carry big leaves of aloe vera, it’s about 1 dollar per leaf, but they are quite big.  Get one of those, take the top layer off and inside there will be a gel, that’s the real aloe vera.  Apply it daily on your face and body, you will notice your skin will become more even within a week.  You can also use aloe as a natural spf, but you will have to apply it more often then the regular spf.

    I will do that my mom has two plants of aloe vera at the house. Its going to be a little difficult putting it all over my body but I will take the time to do it. I didn’t know you could use it as spf. I always read that you should not wear it if you are going to be out in the sun.

      I always wear it when I am out in the sun to prevent sunburn, but you have to apply it every hour or so.  To save your self some time, you can just take a couple of aloe vera leaves place it into the container, then add some grapeseed oil ( you can get that at any supermarket, it’s great for wrinkles ).  Mix it all together and place it in the fridge so it doesn’t go bad.  And you will have a natural body lotion :)

        I have already the grapeseed oil, I’ve read it was good for the wrinkles! Glad u’re mentioning it! But, it didn’t know you could mix it with aloe vera!

    My time was 35:26.  Every muscle in my butt and legs is burning.  I did some light jogging for about 20 minutes afterward because it is sunny in Seattle, have to take advantage of the sun while its here.  Thanks for another great bun burner.

    Hi Tati,
    I saw what you wrote on FB about your workouts being copied and I could swear some weeks/months ago I had that same feeling, but I thought ” hm…   maybe it’s just a coincidence ” ( and the equilizer as well . You have been using it for way longer.) I am sorry to hear that it was actually true…
    I also copy your workouts on my blog ( I am sure you’ve seen how I do it ) but I always give a link to it and write down whatever I had to modify in it to fit my abilities.
    Do not get very upset about it. It is unfortunate that others copy you shamelessly like this, but you stay true to your format and yourself, I am positive that more people will find you, as more and more people will look for proper explanations and for quality.
    I don’t know about writing them, I don’t think they will honor you with a response after all.

      Thank you Work It :) , I appreciate your support so much.  You know I am the type of person that I don’t mind people using any of my info because the blog is for everyone, and on my disclaimer in my footer I say, that anyone can copy any material as long as they give me credit, like many other bloggers have, and thats all I ask.  But when I saw LM doing it over and over and over again, I just couldn’t stay quiet anymore.  And you know me, I stay away from their drama at all times.  But when in her last two videos I heard her quoting me word for word I became furious.  

      And me and my husband made a joke about it a few months ago, we were like hey let’s come up with our own phrase on what I”m gonna say before I start to workout.  So I said ” Let’s Get It On “, then we laughed and said that before my workout.  The next day LM was saying that!  And that’s when I thought OK, I’m dreaming it’s truly happening.  

      I think that I’m gonna stay true to my self and I’m gonna do what I do and be creative like I’ve always been and soon or later people will notice that, because fighting about is just brings more fire to the fuel.  My blog is dated, and that’s my proof.  Some people on Facebook actually thought that I was friends with LM because of the similarities we had, and I’m like no, she just follows my blog LOL.

         I had no idea. I have been drifting away from that blog the last two month or so. When I do like a new workout, I skip through the video to see the exercises I don’t know how to do.             Yes she used to, after I spoke out about it she stopped. 

            It started out with someone writing me an email about it, then I went ahead and checked it out for my self, and as much as I was trying to put it of as a coincidence it was too obvious because it happened on way too many occasions over and over again, I thought it was really weird.

          Thank you so much Marilyn, it was happening right around the time they got the equalizer ( they got it because they saw it on my site, cause it’s a much better piece of equipment than dip station ). But then LM started quoting me in every video, to a point where it got very creepy even my husband noticed and he normally doesn’t notice anything. After I spoke out about it on Michal’s post ” End to enhancement “, other people told me they we noticed. I figured she found out that I know and she stopped, it’s been peaceful ever since :)

            You know, last summer “I wasn’t able” (I didn’t want) to go to the beach because I got 13 extra pounds since living with my bf, I wasn’t feeling confortable at all, and I was wearing the same clothes, I refused to buy new ones (bigger ones), because I didn’t want to stay in that weight,  so I’ve started working out last september, and in three months I lost 8lbs, I think it took me a big while… though,  now I’m in the last pounds to loose, and with your routines and all the tips you’ve gave me, I think I’ll be able to get my sixpack back for this summer!!!

            I took a week of rest after reading your post, and next week I’ll start full of energy! :)

    I did this one yesterday in about 25 right before work and had run a 5k the day before and then had to walk to work…my legs HURT (but in a good way). The one leg jumps after the side/backward lunges were KILLER! Thank you for putting these together for us!

    Hello my sweetness :)

    1) I do have supper every day, we call it dinner here and I usually always eat the same thing chicken and mixed greens such as arugula, tomatoes, I also add 1 organic apple to my salad and some raw nuts and chicken.  Sometimes I eat some buckwheat with that. 

    2)  I go to bed very very late around 3 am ( 3 at night at Russian time, but we call it AM here )

    3)  Last time I eat is around 9 30 or 10 pm.

        I have a lot of work Jos, I do so many things in my day, even on my days off I work.  Around 3 am is when I get most of my things done, sometimes later.

    Im going to kill this workout just now. Warm up and start. The aim is 4 rounds and some abs ex and 300 high knees afterwards. Do i gonna manage to do it….

      Try the 4 rounds, but trust me this is much harder then it looks, after 3 rounds I was drained, and the next 3 days It was a literal pain in my butt and thighs :)

        I did it…. 4 rounds in 46 min. Oh girl, after 2 rounds I was sweating… Today i feel HOT inside in my muscles but no pain. Even my obliques and back muscles :D I believe in the evening today I will feel some soreness as the muscles will be relaxed more. So today some upper body and moderate cardio+abs. Mamamia :) ))))))))

            So.. today was my lower body (but after yesterday ZWOW22 and old Bodyrock workout Set fire to your abs (where there is no that the Reaper LM) with Zuzana, i felt tired ) but I managed to do 4 rounds of this WORKOUT!!! 4 rounds in 44:44 minutes! Whoohooo :) better I would be some sore tomorrow, i need that to feel that i did some good :D Thanks Tati for being :) Im waiting your workouts and new posts and am always excited when I find it in the morning :D

            Wow, you had a killer training day, I only did some light skipping today :) . I already have a new workout in the wait, but it will be a few days until I post it because it’s the video that I am going to connect to a feature video I will be doing for another channel.

    This workout was totally deceiving! It took me 37:22 to complete! I totally underestimated it and thought I could do it under 30 minutes! Good stuff! My cardio for the day is sprinting from one train to subway and to the bus..haha..that’s my daily cardio routine now :p And later today I’ll do my 50 Burpees for the day!

      Yes this workout was very deceiving even I was struggling and for the next 3 days after I was very very sore.

    hey hun i plan to do this workout tomorrow for lower body but i seem to have trouble doing the moves on my ceramic floor, should i do it in carpeted areas?

    omg i loved this workout so muchhh, i never thought i Could sweat so much. I loved the burn I felt during every move, it was priceless.I made sure I maintained proper form and balance during every move so my time was a little behind but Im okay with that. I did all 3 rounds in 42 minutes because during the one leg jump ups I kept losing balance so I restarted all over again. After the workout I did 3 sets of calf raises and 40 rounds of an 11 sec interval of isometric back lunges (weighted 30lb bag). I also did 15 minutes of jumproping and 3 minutes of plank variations:)

    Wow Tati this was a really good WO!! I used your time as guide and squeezed and squeezed some more. Seemed like I did not move very much sweated an absolute ton. Finished my 45 min just shy of 4 rounds so basically I stayed right with you time wise. Impressed! Thank you!

        ha ha! you never noticed when we were posting what old workouts we were doing, that suddenly new workouts would include moves from them? I did, that’s why I kept saying what moves I was doing so it wouldn’t be pushup here, burpee with pushup there, then do a burpee pushup with a shoulder press, all in the same workout every time! I think when someone posts elsewhere its read and then suddenly there’s new moves for them. they also copy old workouts of zuzana’s, I’ve recognized them, and now they are suddenly doing “real time” workouts
        maybe its flattery! lol

      Awesome Ethan!!! I’ve done hourlies yesterday, I really love this concept, it’s perfect for buys people too. I think the best thing is to do it is 2 days a week for best results and to avoid plateau.

    morning all….I finished three rounds in 28:06, was going to do 4, but I’ve got a busy day at work. Didn’t do cardio either, but I did finish with 5 rounds of 50 Tati side bends and 1 minute elbow plank. Nice and sweaty!!!!!

      Today we filmed the one leg squat video and I was sweating like crazy just from that, tomorrow is a workout filming day and I’m afraid because its’ getting hotter by the minute

        heh, summer is slow to arrive in BC Canada :( (( Looking forward to this video. YOU are the first trainer who has actually gotten me to do one leg squats in a WO. I did hold onto a post, but just for balance, I have the muscle. Even Z couldn’t motivate me to do it, so thank you very much, looking forward to free forming it :) ))

          After 2 years I’m just able to do one leg squat half way while holding on to a chair for dear life. Maybe Tati will be the trainer who gets me to do a proper one some day.

            you know, I had that same problem hanging onto a chair, just couldn’t do it…frustrating as hell, knew i had the strength, then one day at work I decided to grab onto a shelf upright, and it worked, maybe because it is anchored and can’t move? not sure, but the tele-post in the basement works like a charm, give it a try

    I’m going to do this one now. I’m on vacation up at an absolutely beautiful location, so I’ll be doind bodyweight exercises for the next few days. I LOVE Get Ur Sexy On, too, and Light As Air–do you have any other bodyweight workouts in your archives that I may have missed, Tatianna?

          why yes I did, it’s so different from the WO’s I’ve been doing…speed, speed ,speed…I weight trained for over a decade and never rushed things, I have to retrain myself to slow down and concentrate on form, but at least I know how to do that, I feel for the new people out there who might hurt themselves

        Today our plan was to take a hike around to this beachy spot we know nearby my boyfriend’s mom’s house and work out there (she lives across the street from this amazing state park with a huge rock, river, trails, etc) but it took too long, so after an hour walking we turned back and just worked out in the backyard. But we had plans that we already had had to push back, so I cut this down to 2 rounds to save on time. However, I did my cardio beforehand in 10 min, and after an easy but 2-hour hike, 2 rounds was enough. I did the one-leg jump squats one after the other to save on time (instead of standing in between). So it was an even 16:00 min for me for 2 rounds. I will do this again, however, and be sure to put form a little higher priority, which I’m sure will stretch my time, including the 3rd round.

    Hey! I finally did this one full through. I took 3 complete days off, then did a light jog on day 4 and yesterday I did Perfect Abs Afterglow, but today was the today I considered myself BACK. I thought this workout would be good because in general bodyweight workouts put less stress on the body and joints, and since I didn’t finish it last time, I thought it was a good match. And it was fantastic! I really did NOT go for time at all–I went for form. So it took me a long time: 37:53. But it felt great! Really great to be back. I didn’t think I needed cardio afterwards, plus I was short on time, so I just did 3 min of plank variations afterwards.

    Hello Tati,

    I am one of those people that would feel amazing by losing a few pounds.
    Is greek yoghurt “allowed”?

    I stopped with milk products a few months ago, I substituted skinny milk for almond milk.
    However these days with the heat I don´t feel like baking eggs in the morning, I feel like eating a piece of fruit with yoghurt and a few nuts and raisins.

    Do you think is it convenient to add this to my diet or should I wait?

    Doing this today! I saw you recommend it to another person that had taken an extended rest. I took 4 days off because I was feeling so darn tired all the time. Started back with yoga, then 15 min light skipping and 30 min deep stretch, then yesterday I did one of your beginner’s routines and more stretching. I’ve been building the intensity slowly and this routine will allow me to go slower and work on form. Starting on Monday I’m going with your split plan for maintaining my current fitness level (and maybe if I’m lucky start showing some abs, but pregnancy was a terrible mistress to me and it did quite a number on my belly,not exactly sure how to combat that, lol.)

      Hey Kari,

      With the stomach after pregnancy the only thing that will make a huge difference in tightening everything back up is planks planks planks. Different variations of planks and at least 3-4 before and after each workout. With that many planks incorporated you will get a huge benefits from your actual ab workouts. Cause many people make a mistake in thinking just ab workouts alone will get their stomach tight again, but in order for that to happen we have to strengthen the core from the inside and from the outside.

    I think I was on slow motion today, its took me way too long to complete this routine.
    Warm up: 10 mins; Dynamic Stretching: 5 mins
    I completed 3 rounds in 43:23, followed by 15 mins of jogging the stairs of my 4 storey apartment building. For Abs, I did the month Ab challenge routine.
    Tati, I was expecting an easier routine my first back but you fooled me.

    A killer today! I was 10 min. slower than the last time I did it. Maybe because I just did “HIIT Barefoot Burn wo” right before. I also incorporated some modifications today: Sliding Lunges instead of Knee-Ups and 1-Leg Dead Lifts instead of Jump-Ups. I can’t jump around where I live now :( I made sure to slide very slowly, deeply and controlled to get the proper leg/butt burn. So:

    3 rounds of:

    1) Sliding Side Lunge & Backward Lunge Combo: 20 Reps Each Leg.
    2) 1-Leg Dead Lift & Butt Squeeze: 15 Reps Each Leg.3) Bridges: 30 Reps.4) Full Body Squat & Knee Up: 50 Reps.5) Wide Bridges: 30 Reps.
    = 26:50 minutes.

    I will be doing this one tomorrow as im doing just bodyweight legs workouts. It seems that i will be repeating those lovely bodyweight workouts for legs :D I hope you will be filming more of such workouts :) )
    I did this workout many times in fact (even 4 rounds), so I know it will be burn :) ) Sweet dreams girl!
