Meet Me On Monday

Hello My Lovies!

Happy beginning of the week and welcome the the Fifth Edition of Monday Mingle, a question answer game we play every Monday to get to know each other better.

I got to say, I’ve been reading through your mingling comments and it amazes me that all of you guys are such incredible, creative, spiritual and healthy positive people!  I just love you guys! Before I get to all the questions, which by the way you guys helped me to come up with, I wanted to give a shout out to Daybelis, Lourdes and Jos for making suggestions on Facebook about today’s questions, thanks darlings!

Here are today’s questions:

This is a question I’ve been wondering for a while :). How did you guys discover Loving Fit?

What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?

How do you conquer a negative thought?

What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?

What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?

My answers:

Q – This is a question I’ve been wondering for a while :). How did you guys discover Loving Fit?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

Well, since I found Loving Fit first LOL, I will just tell you a story how I came up with the name.

In the beginning I bought a domain name like my own, it was suppose to be About a week went by and I was driving in my car and I started texting my friend about how I’m exited to start my blog, and she said to me, “Yep, we all know how you love being fit “. Then it hit me, and I wrote to her ” What if I call the blog LovingFit? “, and she said that’s it, I love that!  Same day I bought loving fit domain, and that was the birth of Loving Fit :).

Q – What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

Before It use to be my aerial training, I would watch girls at my husbands work do incredible things and push them selves in a very inspiring way. Performers are very strong people, you’d watch them do things over and over again, they fall, get injured and pick back up pushing them selves all over again. It’s quite amazing to watch.

Now, when I need a motivation kick I look up to you guys, you guys are the strongest motivator I have. You guys inspire me every day and I want to be the best Me I can be to inspire you the same way you guys inspire me.

Q – How do you conquer a negative thought?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

I think negative thoughts are like cockroaches, they breed at the speed of life and they can live without their heads. So instead of trying to conquer them I redirect them or replace them automatically with a positive thought. In the beginning it’s a challenge to do so if the negative thought has been living in your mind for a while, but with time your brain automatically does that. I always say ” You have to stand by the gateway of your thoughts “, that way you get to choose which thoughts pass through and which don’t.

Q – What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

My fitness goals were always to be strong physically and be able to do pull-ups and push-ups without having to struggle. I definitely achieved that goal and now I’ve created more body composition goals. At the moment my goal is to create more definition in my shoulders and I am working on it right now.

Q – What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

My favorite recipe that takes under 10 minutes to make is raw chocolate truffles. You do have to put them into the fridge to harden up, but you can eat them without it as well, they taste like little cakes:

Mix all the ingredients together and roll them into small balls:

  • Coconut Butter
  • Raw Cacao
  • Raw nuts of choice
  • Dried Fruit ( without sugar added )

What else can be better than healthy, full of antioxidants raw chocolate 🙂

Let’s Mingle!

  • How did you guys discover Loving Fit? A few people were commenting on one of Zuzana’s ZWows about “Tatiana’s awesome work outs”, So intrigued and always on the look out for a good work out I decided to locate this elusive Tatiana on YouTube (lol) and check out her workouts 😉

What keeps you going when you are low on motivation? I set various short term and long term goals either cardio or resistance training and as I work towards & achieve the goals that is motivation in itself for me, I also revamp my training every 6 – 8 weeks to keep it interesting. Plus I must say when I saw your single leg squat on the soft shell medicine ball I thought to myself “Alright Game on! If you can do that so can I!)

How do you conquer a negative thought? a little bit of cognitive therapy, When I catch my self in a negative thought I literally repeat a positive affirmation a few times to conquer the negative thought.

What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far? As mentioned I have a lot of little goals that I work towards. Some notable ones I have achieved would be obtaining my diploma in Fitness and Nutrition not necessarily because I wanted to work in the field but it gave me more confidence in the gym knowing how to use proper form and technique as well as having a good understanding of all the gym equipment as it can look quite intimidating and scary to some people and learning about nutrition really is what “clicked” for me I finally “got it” and saw how important good nutrition is and that it goes hand in hand with training.

Other goals are running 10km’s and being able to maintain that distance (I’m not a natural born runner), Have the resting heart rate of an Athlete for my age group & gender, Test at “elite” level for various fit tests. 6 pack abs, being able to do wide grip pull ups. That’s a few I can think of off hand.

What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make? Blending some cottage cheese (I love the stuff and literally go through 2 kg’s of it a week, strange I know) with some freshly squeezed lime, a dash of vanilla extract and a little stevia & setting it in the fridge it taste just like cheesecake once set. or a salad made of lettuce leaves, cranberries, orange segments, blue cheese, red onion, a teaspoon of honey & roasted pecans to accompany a piece of grilled fish or chicken.

    • WOW the recipe sounds great, I normally don’t eat dairy but once in a while I do love some cottage cheese, will have to try your cheese cake, sounds delicious!

  • saretta

p.s. I like the looks of your recipe, but coconut butter is not available where I live (southern Italy), we can’t even get coconut oil for cooking 🙁 Any idea what I could substitute with? I make my own ghee, would that work?

  • Naomi

How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
Like Talei I also found a comment on a ZWOW talking about how effective your workouts were!
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
The thought of my mental and physical health. If I don’t exercise my brain go into a depressed state, I feel sluggish and my body feels restless. It keeps me balanced.
How do you conquer a negative thought?
It depends on the nature of the negative though. I struggled alot with myself a couple of years ago, many of my negative thoughts were caused by repeating old patterns. In that aspect they were not really true, but I made them so. At that time I basically ended up doing cognitive behavioral therapy on myself. Nowadays I “treat” negative thoughts/feelings by mindfullness (it is okay to feel bad sometimes, so I just let it wash over me) or I think about it in a very “black” way, so that it seems so catastrophic it actually turns out hilarious. I can’t guarantee this works for everyone though! 🙂
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
First and foremost it is to be healthy, happy and sound well into old age! Second it is to master even more pull-ups, the human flag and muscle-ups! Visually I would love a more defined musculature. I have always been active, but I could not do a single pull-up a couple of years ago, now I do 7! My self-esteem has grown so much from mastering my own body. I’ve also noticed I almost never get sick.
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
I love my smoothies! Right now I am really into avocado, strawberry and raspberry smoothies. Come Fall I will pick my own blueberries as well and put them into my smoothie. I use skim milk, lots of berries (some lime with the avocado) and stevia as a sweetener.

    • I want to write an article about self esteem, there is so much I want to share with you guys. But yes mastering our own body does really magical things to our self esteem, and when we combine it with emotional things, everything becomes even more balanced.

  • saretta

I wrote a long answer to this, but don’t see it here anymore, I must have done something wrong!
How did you guys discover Loving Fit?

I think I found your site from a mention on Facebook by some other fitness site. I don’t really remember…but I am glad I found you!
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
When I don’t feel like exercising or eating right, I tell myself “Just do it!” The results are too good to let a bad day get in the way.
How do you conquer a negative thought?
I tell myself “This too shall pass.” And then I try to think of something else. I have lived long enough to know that the bad moments come…and then they go away!
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
I have always been a totally non-athletic couch potato type, so learning to exercise and eat right and really discover all that my body is capable of has been a very exciting and motivating experience. I have also always been sick all my life (mostly from not knowing that I was gluten and lactose intolerant), so this new-found health and strength is wonderful. My goals are to just keep getting as strong and lean as possible. No hurries, I have patience with me, but no stopping me now!
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
For a quick delicious meal, I like to grill some salmon and throw together a mixed salad with differnt types of lettuces, spinach, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded zucchini and my homemade apple vinegar salad dressing. Yum.

    • Diana

This recipe sounds exciting!:) I also use a lot if apple vinegar in my salad dressings: it is not as sour as normal vinegar still it gives a nice taste to the freshly cut veggies!:) Though I don’t make the apple vinegar myself… 😀

      • saretta

Actually I don’t make the vinegar, I make the dressing with vinegar. Maybe I explained that wrong! I use water, apple cider vinegar, some mustard, some chopped seaweed and some garlic, with a dash of xanthum gum. Shake it well and leave it in the fridge overnight…delish!

        • Diana

          Anyhow, it sounds amazing! 😀

    • I am glad you found me as well!!!

More variety of veggies the better, it’s awesome that you do that!

  • This is a question I’ve been wondering for a while . How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
    – Comments on!

What keeps you going when you are low on motivation? – I think back to how unfit I was a few years ago and take a moment to appreciate how much better I feel now. At the very least, I manage not to slip back.

How do you conquer a negative thought? – I try to take a tip from my boyfriend about stress: If something’s bothering you and you can do something about it, do it; if you can’t do anything about it, then there’s no point worrying about it.

What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
    Achieved so far:
    – 25+ full push ups, able to skip for 20 mins without dying, improved flexibility
    Working on now:
    – To be able to do 10+ pull ups,
    – to be a great climber,
    – swim 20 laps (I haven’t been in a pool for years, but I ordered a suit last week after being inspired by the Olympics!) – splits & yoga jumps (these weren’t things I ever hoped to be able to do, but purely through my post-workout stretching I naturally seem to be getting closer and closer to both).

Appearance-wise I’d like lower body fat all over. The workouts I do have given me a good amount of muscle, but now I have to tweak my diet and add more cardio.

What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
I don’t have any really, but I can whip up a good risotto in 15 🙂

    • Your boyfriend is very wise, that is a great way of looking at things.

      • I told him you said this and I think it might have gone to his head!

    • sus

the skipping for 20 minutes without dying is a good goal. I think I need to add that to mine.

      • That one didn’t take too long! The first time I was useless – I was dead after 5 minutes and didn’t get any more that 20 skips in one go. I tried again the next day, after only a month of skipping once per week I was able to do my 20 minutes – it’s a really satisfying goal 🙂

    • Your boyfriend is right.

How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
I was an avid BR’er for over a year, then things began to change. They brought in new “hosts”, and I tried to support them, but it felt like the life was deflated out of BR. I thought “Its all the same workouts, I have come so far, the face behind the camera shouldn’t matter, suck it up, keep going!” So I did, for a while but I gotta be honest, it was NOT fun, inspiring or motivational. The new “hosts” just didn’t have what Z had. So I thought to myself, “There has to be others out there who have the same type of … je ne sais quoi… so I searched on YouTube. I don’t know what I searched, but whatever I searched, I saw all sorts of crazy stuff. Then I saw you. There was a lot of the color red in the thumbnail, and a white statue, something about that thumbnail caught my eye. Anyway, I started to watch the video and I said “who does this girl think she is?? Psh, this is easy peasy.” and I started to miss Z even more. Then, for some unknown reason, I thought I would do one of your “easy” workouts, and that was IT MAMA!! I was LOVING you, your workouts, your blog, your advice, your knowledge ever since. Now I’m hooked.
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
I remember what it was like to look at my pudgy belly, my out of shape legs and flabby arms, and I don’t want to lose that. I also keep a pair of my jeans that are now very baggy on me, and don’t want them to be tight like they used to be. I look around at the generally unhealthy state in America and don’t want to be a part of that. I look at others who are in shape, and know that I can be that. I know that I can feel really good for my age, or I can just allow “age to take its course.” Also, bee pollen helps.
How do you conquer a negative thought?
I wish I could say that I have really healthy ways to conquer negative thoughts and that I conquer them always, but that would be untrue. Usually, I just have sort of argument, a battle in my head. The good and the bad duking it out. I have positive people in my life, so talking to them is helpful. Also, you are right Tati, what you allow in has an impact on how you think, so I try to keep what’s coming in bright and cheeful. Prayer, meditation, these are great ways to conquer negative thoughts. Also, sometimes, a nice glass of red wine is in order. 🙂
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
I just want to be able to run and not get winded. I want to do pushups in proper form. I want to feel good and strong. I don’t want to have to ask for someone “strong” to do things for me because I’m not strong enough.
I have acheieved the running. Pushups continue to be my nemesis. And I’m stronger than people think I am. I’m 6ft tall and skinny, but its mostly muscle and people mistake my skinny for weak 🙂 I’m not the strongest person, but I’m stronger than I look 🙂 🙂
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
Its a raw vegan chocolate ice cream. Its what I survive on during the summer heat and humidity because I lose my appetite and my will to live 😉 Here it is:

Frozen bananas, sliced (at least 3, I usually do 8)
2TB raw cocoa powder (more or less according to your liking)
2TB Peanut Butter (or according to your liking)
1TB coconut oil (this helps keep it smooth and easy to scoop out when frozen)
    1tsp vanilla extract
2TB maple syrup (or any sweetner, the riper the bananas, the less sweetner you need to add)
    2tsp maca powder

Take the frozen sliced bananas from the freezer and put all ingredients into a food processor. Process until smooth. You can add anything to this, chopped walnuts, cocao nibs, protein powder, ground flax seed, cinnamon…whatever you like.
Scoop out of the food processor, and enjoy. Store the leftovers in the freezer, and enjoy as a tastey desert, or even for breakfast if its too hot to cook. I have eaten so much of this during this nasty hot summer. In fact, I’m going to have some now!

    • Ahh you are so sweet :), I am so happy you found me too :). All of you guys have just been amazing! Thank you so much

I am very happy that you are stronger and I can tell you have it down pretty well, meditation helps me through life too, ever since I started meditating my whole perspective on life had changes.

Thank you for the recipe, I’m gonna try it out, I always try to find new ways of using Maca, cause by it self it’s not exactly the tastiest powder.

      • AlishisPhillips

Oh, please let me know if you like it. I have played around with this recipe so much, it truly is my own. But I love how easy and CHEAP it is to make, way better than any ice cream substitute I have ever bought.

    • sus

      yum that recipe sounds amazing.

      • AlishisPhillips

Sus, I hope you try it, its so easy, so cheap, and absolutely the best substitute for ice cream I have ever found. (I don’t eat ice cream…or much diary at all really!)

        • tee_w

Is there any way this doesn’t taste like bananas? I dislike bananas but see these recipes all the time but haven’t the guts to try in case it tastes like bananas! lol

          • AlishisPhillips

            Hi tee_w,
I happen to like bananas very much, but my husband does not like them at all. Personally, I don’t taste bananas in this, but he swears he does. I think its more of the fact that he KNOWS there are bananas in it that make him squeamish. If you add more cocoa, cinnamon, maple syrup, peanut butter…you know, other things to cover over the flavor, maybe you will like it. I can tell you that the flavor of bananas is not prominent. Make a small batch, and if you don’t like it, its not a huge waste. But if you do like it, well, you just found an awesome recipe for the cheapest, healthiest ice cream ever! 🙂

          • tee_w

          • OMG Tee you dislike bananas? I love them so much, sometimes I eat 4-5 at a time :). I know how pigly of me 🙂

          • tee_w

yup! I even gag when someone is eating a ripe one in the same room as me from the smell! I have been able to eat them when they are green but once they start turning yellow ugg, can’t eat them at all cooked.
I also can’t stand watermelon ha ha! I know I’m really weird

How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
As so many people have written: I became disappointed cos of the changes on BR – looked a bit stinky for me when they started the marketing engine like “Like” us on Facebook, you can win if you do this/that, new hosts (the brand new ones are not even trainers) etc. So it was hard to believe that there is a professional background behind the scenes… When I was watching YouTube videos (old BR or ZWOW vids) on the right column I always saw Tatianna’s videos. First, I could resist and I tried to stay “faithful” 😀 to BR but when I saw Tatianna’s Warm-up routine, I was absolutely convinced that I found what I was looking for: clear, professional, trustworthy… not this cheesy “likemelikemelikeme” all the time with soft porn pics. Since I do LovingFit workouts, I see more results than ever and I love coming back here browsing among the older nutrition/beauty/workout articles… 🙂
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
Regarding to workout: I always tell myself that if I dont do the workout I will go back on the wrong track and I will gain all the fat I ve lost so far. Or I just watch a good workout video and I am already in the mood! 😀
How do you conquer a negative thought?
Hmmmm… I have been a really negative person in my whole life. Lately I realized I can only move forward if I dont stop and think about the things I did wrong/missed etc. I have to look ahead and try to figure out what is the positive in my current situation or how I can solve the problem in the most efficient and quickest way. Since then I feel happier in general and I can arrange my things way quicker – so I have more freetime!:P
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
When I started home-workouts last Nov, my goal was to keep doing the workouts for enough time to get used to it (to be built in my daily life) and lose the weight I gained during my thyroidosis. When I lost weight and I saw the benefits and the development, my goal became to be “sporty-pretty” and to keep it by eating healthy/clean, doing workouts etc. So far: workout really became part of my life and I look healthier/leaner than ever before. Though I think I need to improve my eating habits a bit cos I still fall sometimes and eat a chocolate or a cake. But rarely happens nowadays! I am getting stronger!:D
Other main goal :D:D : to help my brother lose 20 kg by giving him nutrition advice when we go shopping together. It is so hard to see him struggling with his weight… But he looks determined this time!:)
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
Someone already wrote sth like that before: I buy some nice low-fat cottage cheese that I make it as a fresh dessert. In my country cottage cheese is not salted, less hard and a bit more sour than the usual so it is perfect to quickly make a cream out of it by mixing it with yoghurt, honey (or sweetener, maple syrup, etc). I normally also add some lemon juice and even finely shredded lemon skin. Also raisins, cranberries etc can come into it. Sometimes I also put cocoa powder (the one without sugar) or cinnamon. It is really yummmmy!!!:)
I can also make the cottage cheese-yoghurt combo in the “salty” way: put cumin powder, pepper, salt in the mixture. It is amazing with wholegrain bread! That is my favourite brunch food!:)

Pfff, I finish it before I write a whole novel… 😀 Have an easy week everyone!:)

    • You made me laugh!

When I was reading through your cottage cheese recipe with lemon skin I was drooling, what a great idea, I wouldn’t of ever thought of it.

  • Hey Eliza,

I have some great advice for PMS, 1st – wild yam cream. Have you ever heard of it? It helps to balance out hormones, the reason we get these cravings is because our hormones around PMS times are all over the place, wild yam cream ( which you apply on the thinnest parts of your body, twice a day during PMS and once a day the rest of the time ) will balance out the hormones.

Maca powder is another thing that will really balance out the hormones, when the hormones are in balance the cravings go away.

    • eliza

do i find this cream at a health food store? i have never heard of it but will give it a go for sure thanks, and the maca powder i can definitely try

  • You are definitely Worth IT! Keep telling this to your self several times a day, every day and eventually your mind will stop trying to control you. In reality we are in control of our mind at all times, we just have to believe it.

    1. I discovered Loving Fit while looking for other workout sites. I won’t mention the site I was using a lot because I still really appreciate what they did for me. I first started looking for other workouts because, at a point, this site was only posting one new workout per week. I still use their workouts, but only once a week, and that’s my full body workout routine day. Since I have mainly been using Tatianna’s workouts for the past 2-3 months, I have been getting tremendous results from doing split routines, not 6 day a week full body workouts.
    2. What keeps me going when I’m low on motivation? Sometimes when I really don’t want to workout, I realize it’s only going to be 30-45 mins and that I will feel much better after I get done. Also, I always think of this: every workout is progress. I’ve come a long way, and I’m not going to give that up.
    3. How do I conquer a negative thought? I really try to be a very positive person, although I’m pretty sarcastic; I try to always look at things positively. If someone offends me, or says negative things directly to me, I really try to figure out why. The majority of the time I find that they are not happy in their life and try to hurt me due to their own insecurities.
    4. Right now my fitness goals are to lose a few more pounds, and gain more muscle mass. I’m at a very good weight for my height and I basically just want to lose a little more fat and be more muscular. I have lost around 30lbs in the past few years, so yes, it was very slowly, but I know that is how I’ve kept it off.
    5. My favorite recipe 10 mins and under? A healthier version of no bake cookies. Whole grain rolled oats, dark chocolate cocoa powder, vanilla extract, natural peanut butter, stevia. Freeze for 30 mins. They are delicious, but I have to keep moderation in mind lol.

    • daybelis garcia

yum that recipe sounds right up my alley lol

    • Hey girlie, I think I know the site you’re talking about :).

I don’t mind if you guys talk about other sites, cause I don’t rival with any fitness sites, I am all about information in general and I want you guys to speak freely if you find other websites that are great and useful to you.

I’m gonna try your cookies, I love anything that I don’t need to cook 🙂

    • Evaleen

I agree with the others, great recipe idea! 🙂 By “dark chocolate” cocoa, I’m guessing you simply mean not the dutch type?

And also wanted to say, that I really respect your stance. It’s just nice to see someone show regard for a place they’ve supported, whether they still do or not.

  • How do you conquer a negative thought?
    ” I dont think about that. ”

This is an amazing answer and a great advice!

  • Hey sweeties,

I read through most of the comments, I am running out of the house for several hours and I will check the rest of the comments and reply to all of you when I get back :)))

    • daybelis garcia

aww so kind, do what you have to do tati lol, we can definitely wait

    • Naomi

You are doing an amazing job Tati! The activity here has exploded and it must be a 24/7 job to read through and answer all our comments as well as planning and filming workouts!

      • I agree with Naomi. Don’t worry about answering every post…I should say my posts. If I want your reply to one of mine I’ll say so in the post.

      • Hey Naomi,

It’s tough to read through all of them at times, but usually if I don’t read them right aways I get around them and find the time for you guys, because I love having communication with my community.

  • daybelis garcia

Love these Monday Mingles, and thanks for the shoutout love;)
    1. How did you guys discover Lovingfit?
As so many other people, I also discovered lovingfit in lol. I was beginning to workout by doing dvd’s then I wanted to challenge myself and heard about bodyrock.I was a bodyrocker for 3 months and I just could not handle it anymore. I felt so tired all the time and my joints would be cracking like if i was some old granny. I then saw you and was inspired, but I never thought I would be able to so everything you did. My first workout with you was your Purfect abs workout and after successfully doing it , I knew this was the place to be for me:) Not only is it a place where you can improve yourself physically but mentally as well, your words of wisdom and encouragement have helped me so much!
    2. What keeps you going when you are low in motivation? Ugh do I hate these moments so much since I am such a hardworking and persistent person. When Im feeling low on motivation and take a moment and meditate. If after my moment of meditation I still feel low, then I know I need to give my body some rest. Before I would not listen to my body and I learned with time and with your advice that this isn’t the way to approach things.
    3. How do i conquer a negative thought?I also hate negativity and negative people, usually when someone makes a negative comment in order to cause a negative thought inside my head I simply think about something funny or sarcastic, I tend to just end up laughing it out lol. Sometimes I also think about how far I’ve come along my journey from recovering from anorexia and really dont pay attention to unnecessary things.
    4. What are your fitness goals? What have you achieved so far? I really want to get abs, either 4 pack or 6 pack doesn’t matter but it’s always been a dream of mine and people tell me this isnt possible unless you have it in your genes. I also hope to be able to do one legged squats and pullups. Thus far, I’m able to do so many pushup variations and can skip rope for 15 minutes no breal:)
    5. My favorite recipe that takes less than 5 minutes? My green smoothie , love it post workout. I use 1 cup eggwhites ( organic and pasteurized), vanilla extract, organic cocoa powder, cinnamon, spinach, banana, ginger, and finally topped with ground flaxseeds.
As always thank you hun for all you do:)

  • Yay! I love these! I saw this up last night but I postponed it until today because it’s now a real treat to think about these questions on Monday (at work, tee hee!).

How did you guys discover Loving Fit?I am one of those people that usually has to see something a few to several times to really invest in it. I guess you could say I’m a researcher type. I was first on the BodyRock train, like so many here, starting about June last year (after I studied it for a while, too, LOL). So that’s when I started that kind of training, meaning basically that kind of at home unit training that changes each time. Before that I’ve always exercised, but I would split time between running and my fitness DVD’s which were wonderful, but of course, after a couple of weeks they’re the same and really boring. So I loved this new at-home approach and was, for the first time in a long time, seeing results AND really excited about my body and fitness. So, I then stayed with BR until about May when the scales tipped and I felt that the commitment that the site had to its followers was less than what they claimed it to be, and I dropped following it and joined the Disavowed Rockers on Facebook. Right when I started joining in over there, they were all glowing about Tatianna and LovingFit! Now, I had come across your videos and your blog before and watched a little here and there, but I’m a very loyal person and I wasn’t looking for a new trainer at the time. But when they posted your stuff on DR, and I WAS looking for a new site and a new trainer AND I had already been acquainted with you, I was ready to jump on the bandwagon. And sometimes there’s a group workout and it was an old one of yours: Loving Fit and Sexy, and it was just AWESOME. I loved it! And then I did more and more workouts, started your plan of doing split routines, and then I started following your skincare recipes (OMG amazing), and it’s downhill from there.
    Hm…sorry, that was really long!
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation? The feeling of being DONE, and how great that feels, whether in fitness or anything.
How do you conquer a negative thought? I usually try to turn it around. I don’t try to think of it as BAD, per se, but an indicator that I’m not lined up. I then tell myself, “well, if that’s what I DON’T want, what is it that I DO want?” Or, if that doesn’t work, I just try to distract myself until it feels better. I do know, even when upset, that feelings are not facts and can color everything, so sometimes just taking a nap or watching some TV will take me away enough to come back and try to turn that thought around later.
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?Fitness-wise, I just want to continue to lower my body fat–just a little bit, though. I haven’t really been structured with my diet just because I’m doing some other things right now, and I’m pretty happy with where I am. In the last 14 months or so I have definitely slimmed down without making any changes in what I eat, and also in not even really thinking much about it, which is huge for me. My core is a lot stronger, and I even have a little 6-pack! So I’d like to define that and amp my body composition up a little, but that’s more of a long-term goal. Oh! And I just want to say that I inherited my mother’s belief that my thighs are ugly and could never be beautiful, and while that’s a hurdle that’s more emotional than physical, I’m proud to be able to wear shorts proudly for the first time in like, 10 years or so. 🙂 So I’d like to rid myself of most of my cellulite and to be even MORE proud of my lower half, but I’ve made huge strides already.
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make? First thing that came to mind: eggs ‘n bananas. Fry ’em up! I also love a recipe I got from the BodyRock site back when Z was there: one ingredient ice cream! Freeze a banana and put it in the food processor until it achieves a creamy consistency. It’s sweet, has a consistency very much like ice cream, and is healthy and natural! You can add cocoa or some other flavoring as well.

    • PS. I am SO trying those truffles!

      • Ah girlie, I love getting to know you more and more. YOu know when I was reading what you said about your thighs, and as you said it was your mother’s belief, it really is hers and hers only belief. When we are young we are like sponges take all the information that’s coming in, and it creates belief in our minds that we live with for the rest of our life. In reality, we can change anything in our so called genetics because when we are born we create a new gene, by what we eat and how much activities we do. You can definitely firm up your things, you know what really helps me, visualization before my workouts, it also gives me the motivation. Just see in your mind what you want to see in front of the mirror and very soon that is exactly what will appear there.

        • You are AWESOME for writing this to me! 🙂 Yes, you are totally, totally right–it’s her belief and not mine, and she’s an awesome lady, but when you hear things from a young, young age it becomes your reality, whether that’s good or true or not! I’ve known that now for many years, but it’s one thing to intellectually know something and another to be able to completely believe and feel differently. 🙂 From what I’ve read about your story, and other ways as well, I’m sure, it seems you’ve transformed your life many times over, so to hear it from you is very inspiring.

          • Ohh trust me sweetie, I know what it’s like when parents can be a bit harsh, they might not always mean to do so because it’s what they know best. My mom told me some not really nice things when I was growing up ( she changed with time ), and I spent so many years in depression because I believed those things. But when I grew up and started working on my self spiritually I was able to let go of everything and live a completely free life. I created totally new beliefs for my self and it changed everything in my mind. Now when I look back at the past, I just smile and say, wow, I came really far. We can change everything in our life, it’s all about our thoughts. We are what we think about the most :), universe doesn’t know the difference, it only brings us what we think about.

          • Yes! Couldn’t agree more!

  • How did you discover LovingFit?
Like most people here, I stumbled across the site via a mention on a bodyrock page somewhere and gave it a look and I was hooked. I remember bookmarking a page you wrote about Karma and I then read a few more of your thoughts of the day. Your words really clicked with me and how I think 🙂 After a while I tried one of your workouts and the burn kept me coming back for more!

What keeps me going when low on motivation?
I listen to my body first and if I am feeling weak or tired, I get an early night but if I have the can’t be arsed attitude, I take my dogs for a longer walk and listen to some pumped up music.

How do you conquer a negative thought?
I have learnt through bitter experience to deal with negative thoughts – instead of reacting and believing them to the point I can’t get out of bed, I put them in a bubble and flick them out of my head saying a line from the film Labyrinth – “you have no power over me”….and the negative thought disappears. Also I have used forms of meditation and currently liking some of the tracks – particularly the yoga nidra one.

Fitness goals and achievements so far?
My goal is to lose the excessive jiggly bits – ie: le muffin et le spare tyre which has got a bit smaller but not enough!!! Basically lower my body fat by quite a bit! I have achieved a bottom- yes, it is a lot rounder and doesn’t resemble a saggy old man’s flat bot! Still that small pooch remains but it is going!

    Fave 10 min recipe?
hmm – tricky one – probably egg, bacon and avocado salad…..or raspberries, crushed meringue and icecream mix up 🙂

    • Ahh love Labyrinth too, such a great movie. I wrote the article about Karma, which was on of my first articles. I want to get back to writing about spiritual things, cause I have so many thoughts lately in my head, just want to share it with you guys.

      • tryste

LOL, I totally agree! I love Labyrinth, too, and this idea of how to deal with negative thoughts is so cool — so visual! I’m going to give it a try.

Also, Tatianna, I just wanted to chime in that I love your psychological and spiritual posts, too. They’re provocative, and I really value you sharing that side of yourself and inspiring us to think about that aspect of life as well. It’s so important to keep everything in balance — the physical, emotional, mental/psychological AND the spiritual — and I like how so much of that comes into focus here on the site 🙂

        • Thank you Tryste 🙂

Yes I am all about the balance between the inner and outer worlds. I am gonna write a lot more things about these subjects, physicality is only one small aspect of our life, to have a true peace within one self, we must also have a beautiful inner world to match the outside.

  • Good day mates,

    1. I saw posts from Tee, Yboog, Audra, Kendra, Gerri Lee and 1Ivana that I was following on disqus from another site. It took me a while to check LovingFit out because I’d become weary and disillusioned of the online fitness community.
    2. I function at my best when I have set routines in my life (I’m a good candiate for the military). Working out is part of that set routine , so I just do it.
    3. I never try to conquer negative thoughts…having these thoughts is part of life. I let the thought run it course, I don’t try to stop it. If the negativity drags on, then I go into the experience and breaks it down to little questions of Why, when, what, etc. I also mediate twice a day.
    4. I don’t have a particular fitness goal. I’m into fitness for total health. For bragging sake and just to say I can, I would like to at least do one reqular pistol and pull-up.
    5. Grilled chicken with grilled vegetable.
    1lb skinless/boneless chicken; 2 Corn on the cob; 2 Zucchini; 2 Red Bell Peppers;
Combine 2T Fresh Thyme; 1T Oil; salt and Black pepper to taste; 1/4 cup red wine or red wine vinegar. Use half for chicken, the other half for vegs.

    • There is definitely a way of letting things run their course, I feel like that about painful moments. I think when we are in pain in our life, we just have to let it run it’s course, and then it enlightens us.

I started meditating more and more as well, I just love how it balances me and helps me stay creative.

      • For me, meditating is like medicine. They are part of my life routines. I do not skip my daily pratices, I do them even at airports when travelling.

    • tee_w

thanks for the shout out! I like your picture!

  • Hi Sannia,
No matter what Zuzanna did in her previous career, that is her past.People make bad judgement at certain time in their life, and they shouldn’t have to pay with the rest of their life. She is more than a so called “ex porn star”, she is a human being trying to do the best for her life.

    • Courtney

Completely agree. I know I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and it would be a shame if people continued to judge me for them the rest of my life, despite reformation.

      • Yes, we all make mistakes, what matters is what we are in the present day and what we are thriving to become. I think It also matters how many people we help along the way, in the end it’s the positive of what we do counts the most.

    • sannia

Hi… i know… you are all right…and i dont judge her or her life in the past…im not here to judge anybody. We all have a choice to do what we want-that is freedom. Dont get me wrong…im human to, who is trying to do the best for my life too – but i dont go running around mother-naked…and all that for what-certainly not for hunger in the piece of paper…i think there is a way better choice …wake up and look, people are greedy they not all good….Like i said i dont think she is professional what i needed. And that is only my choice. Im really sorry if i offended anybody here i did not want that.

      • Evaleen

I get what you mean about being professional (I don’t really think of Zuz as one either, then or now). But I admire someone like her who has that kind of drive and dedication, cause ultimately, I feel that passion for fitness is what counts for most (with training smart/properly coming a veeeeery close second). That’s why I personally found it rewarding to watch her workouts, cause she believed in what she did… it was her pathway to heal and grow, and gave her genuine happiness.

But anyway, as long as you’ve found a trainer you enjoy and trust, that’s what matters. 🙂 I’m so glad I found Tati too.

        • Ahh you guys, I want to hug all of you, you are always so kind :)))))))))))))))))))

  • sus

I love tuna salad. Here is my all time favorite recipe for it. I will try your recipe soon.

1 can tuna in water, drained
2 Tablespoons plain yogurt or greek yogurt
    1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 teaspoon each curry, turmeric, and garlic poweder

Mix together and wrap in kale or cabbage or both.

    • Yam this looks super good! I will buy a Greek yogurt for this special treat 🙂

    • tryste

Oh my god, I’m so gonna try that! Thanks for sharing your recipe 🙂

      • sus

        It is so good!

  • Hello!!!

    1. I discovered Lovingfit thanks to Marilyn Rietveld, she is my friend on facebook and she kept on posting Tatiana´s workouts so I bookmarked the site in my computer and several weeks later I decided to give it a looksie (haha) and here I am, ALL THE TIME!

    2. When it comes about fitness I am always motivated, it is very easy for me to get up and go for it. But when it comes to emotional problems it is very difficult for me, so I said to myself that I have to keep on going that “this can`t last forever”

    3. This is also a problem I have been dealing with, it has been a very hard time and usually I just push them away, I try to forget them, I try to say : No, no, that is not going to happen. I am still learning how to deal with them.

    4. I have achieved the fact that I have more muscle in my arms, I have more strength. I still need to be able to achieve so many things like a pull up, but overall being faster in my workouts. I tend to take too many breaks in between, I would like to go like a flow each round. And of course, lose body fat.

    5. I make a chocolate cake for my boyfriend, I suppose it is healthy. ( 1 portion )
    – 3 tbs flour
    – 1 tbs raw cacao
    – 1 tbs stevia (or brown sugar)
    – A tiny pinch of salt
    – 1 tsp Vanilla
    – 3 tsp coconut oil
    – 3 tbs almond milk

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the liquid ingredients and mix.
You can put the mixture in a cup (with coconut oil so it doesn´t get sticky) or
you can do what I do: put it on a plate (of course you have to shape it like a square)
Put it in the microwave for 45 seconds and enjoy.

Since this is too chocolate-wise I make something else for me.

    – 2 cups of almond milk
    – 1 tbs of raw cacao
    – 1 tbs of stevia
    – Frozen strawberries ( I add like 6 strawberries)

Everything goes in the blender and enjoy!

    • Yam I love chocolate recipes :))), this one is very healthy :), thank you for sharing sweetie.

    • hhahahaha MASSIVE LIKE from me for this post 🙂

  • I just noticed your comment did show, lately Discuss have been playing hide and seek and some of my comments are gone then reappear later.

    • sus

Yea I typed all my answers to this monday mingle and it looks like it didn’t post. But it was super long, and I haven’t had time to retype it. Argh.

  • How did you guys discover Loving Fit? Well, first I was a strictly DVD exerciser. Then I decided to look online for more routines because the DVD’s get boring after doing them so much. That’s when I found BR. Did that for a while, but after Z left, I did not like the direction they were going. It wasn’t about the workouts anymore, it was about selling products. So I did some more research online and found Tati and I fell in love with her workouts day 1! This site has probably the best workouts and advice that I have come across. Thank you, Tati!
What keeps you going when you are low on motivation? What keeps me going is knowing that if I didn’t do my workout, then I would beat myself up about it. When I do them on those days where I don’t have the motivation, afterwards I feel better than I did before I started and I pat myself on the back for not giving into the couch lol.
How do you conquer a negative thought? I used to dwell on the negative, and that was very harmful to my well being. So when something negative comes to mind, I watch my I Love Lucy DVD’s lol. I love her, I am always a happy camper after I watch some Lucy. :p
What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far? I can finally do regular push ups! I never thought I could do that, so when I did, I happy danced hardcore! lol. What I do want to achieve are pull ups! Those I struggle with right now, and if I can do regular push ups, I will eventually do pull ups unassisted!
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make? My favorite thing to make that takes less than 10 mins is that cinnamon french toast that Z posted on BR right before she left there for good. 2 eggs, cinnamon, and 2 pieces of whole wheat toast. Mix the eggs and cinnamon together, then dunk the bread in. Then cook it on the stove in coconut oil. I like to put berries on top. Yummm!

  • midimidi

hi hi! so here is my story I don’t know who officially directed me to loving fit but I follow lots of people on discuss from the body rocker days. things became not so positive for me over there, and I was so disappointed and annoyed. I remember Nina mentioning loving fit on facebook or discuss or her blog and how she was looking over the site and thinking about giving the workouts a shot. As soon as I got here I read all the entries I could and looked at the workouts and dove right in. It’s became my fitness answer.

motivation is the hardest part. change is cool because sometimes we try to change ourselves and then just by doing that we can motivate other people. I have to say when people ask me about my workouts or tell me that they are now inspired to be healthier I feel very motivated. I also am part of disavowed rockers on facebook and they motivate me to workout. we all are there to encourage each other and have some fun hanging out and talking about burpees.

my fitness goals will be to strengthen my weaknesses and to function better athletically. I want to get more muscle mass and build up my delts. I want to be able to do any physical challenge with more ease and grace. pistol squats hand stands pull ups that kind of thing.

my favorite clean recipe I love and people might think is gross but it’s a meal in one pan. get a sweat potato cook it in microwave for 6 minutes as that cooks sautee some spinach. then get a can of tuna and one egg and mix that together. then throw the cooked sweet potato with the spinach and let it brown up and then throw the egg and tuna mixture and finish cooking. easy and I eat it a lot.

    • We are all here to inspire and motivate each other, I am so happy that we all get to know little personal things about each other :)).

Very interesting recipe, what do you mean blow up, do you cover everything with a lid?

      • midimidi

he he! brown up the sweet potatoes get a little brown and crispy. It is weird my hubby doesn’t like it, but it taste good to me because it just hits the spot on so many levels protein greens and good carb! I am fasting right now and these recipes are killing me!

        • tee_w

hee hee! did you originally say blow up? lol though I think I’d rather eat a sweet potato than a “sweat” one, maybe that’s why your hubby doesnt like it! lol
          just teasing!

    • Esal1

lol talk about burpeeZ! That’s our Midi!

  • Evaleen

#1 – Don’t exactly remember where I first heard of LF… might unfortunately have been amongst some juvenile gossip I read concerning “other” fitness sites (so much poison that I regret wasting any time on– but if a reminder was needed on how hurtful, human-less, and ego-centered people can be, I certainly got the picture). Anyway, that was a very negative situation back then… but I’m more than happy to move on from it, and am so grateful that I found something ‘pure’ from it all.

It did take me a couple months though of ‘flirting’ with this site, to see what it was truly about. The dignity and professionalism was obvious, and there was so much great info… but at the time, I was still unsure what to invest my hopes in, and whose opinion to trust. My eyes were opened though, when browsing through Tatianna’s articles I found her story about dealing with a bi-polar issue. I was so moved by her honesty and emotion, and felt badly for what she had to go through. As well, it’d be understandable for a person to harbor some bitterness after such misguidance and mistreatment… but she expressed strength and grace over the whole experience. In a nutshell, that entry was simply a beautiful ‘picture’ of her, and from then on I only wanted to know more about this amazing, compassionate person… so here I am. 🙂

2# – It varies a bit depending on what the motivation is for, but for fitness, I remind myself why I do it in the first place– cause it feels “right”. I still do struggle though, and lose confidence in myself… but when I’m able to push past that mental barrier, I always get back on track and commit fully again.

3# – I try to summon positive thoughts in place of negative ones, but when that feels impossible (my emotions can be rather stubborn), then I have to clear my mind: go blank, take a breather, and let my thoughts wander elsewhere.. The last part is the easiest, cause I’d simply rather think about stuff that makes me feel good lol. Problem is though, I have a short temper and often have to keep it in check, :/ lots of self-reminders to just let it go, cause it’s not worth it lol.

#4 – I haven’t set any big fitness goals lately as I’ve been too inconsistent with my workouts. :/ I do want to do full pull-ups and one-leg squats though, but those are still a work in progress… halfway there. :p

#5 – Raw food bar recipes in general. My favorite I think is ground raw nuts, dates, cocoa, and a little coffee added– the result tastes like a mocha brownie. 😀

    • Ahhh honey, you are so sweet, thank you so much for your kindness. I wrote that article because I wanted to help people understand that they can do something about it, they don’t have to be trapped anymore. I am glad I wrote it, because I was really afraid of writing it.

      • Evaleen

I hadn’t commented to that article before cause it isn’t something that I have much personal experience with, so I wasn’t sure how “appropriate” my opinion on it would be. But it’s a matter I feel strongly about, and I’m so happy for everyone who was helped by it… and if I meet such a person again, I’ll certainly share what I learned from you. 🙂 Thank you for being so brave about it.

        • Hey girlie, don’t worry about being “appropriate”, I always love every comment you write 🙂

    1. Discovered LovingFit from one of the Facebook Notes regarding BR 🙂

    2. Well I take a little break from my usual routine. Usually after 2-3 day, I will start my motivation to come back again.

    3. This is the tough one as I’m still struggle with this. I do try to think of something negative into another way, try to see the positive side of it instead.

    4. My fitness goal now is to gain more strength in my upper body and get more defined cut look as well. So far I’ve achieved lower body strength.

    5. 10 minutes and less recipe: sautee cut up squash. Just cut up, pan fry with coconut oil, drizzle with black pepper and I’m done!

  • Esal1

    1) If I remember right it was Midi who introduced LovingFit to our page. We were all hooked pretty much right away, much of what the old BR offered was here, but there was something even a little more. And that was and still is your attention to everyone of us. I don’t message as much as I used to cause I worry about you and all the time you must put in. But not to worry I am here.
    2) I really don’t have a problem with motivation. I simply enjoy the WO, it helps me focus the rest of the day, it is something that I am good at, it gives me a confidence buzz. If I ever feel like I am lacking motivation, I simply take the day off, cause my body is trying to tell me something.
    3) Negative thoughts come and go, just like positive ones. I am generally a positive person so I don’t really pay it much mind.
    4) In the long run, just to be a healthy person fit in mind and body. A shorter goal is I am working on my Bar Brothers requirements and should acheive that in the next month or so.
    5) Best quick recipe??? Hmmmmmmmm….. Tomato sandwiches, not really a recipe except you have to have really good tomatos and really good bread, toasted with mayo and salt & pepper and you got yourself quite a treat.

    • Oh my, last time I had a really good tomato was so long ago that I forgot the taste. But I remember how amazing they are when they are organic and ripe, yam. You can message me anytime, I am always happy to answer you 🙂

  • * This is a question I’ve been wondering for a while . How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
LF was mentioned in some FB comments from BR (yep….another ex-BR’er). I looked at your page and you tube and I saw a very professional trainer, with tons of knowledge, no showing off just proper hard and creative workouts. One of my fav. things about this site is emphasizing form over speed. Now that I am almost a Certified Personal Trainer I have developed this ‘proper form fetish’ and I know I get my kick here 😀
    * What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
I take a day or 2 off when I think I am heading towards overtraining or I try something new. A new movement or I take a new class at the gym etc. When I know it is not overtraining I just push myself by recalling how good I feel after a workout. Once in it I really enjoy it. Another way to keep my motivation up high is that I simply have to prepare for my personal trainer exams.
*How do you conquer a negative thought?
I have been working on this for the past year, but mainly the last couple of monts following an almost-burnout situation. My body and mind just snapped but it has changed my character for the better. I am having a lot more fun in life now. I do this by saying to myself that it is ok to feel bad after someting negative happened. I am not pushing myself to oppress it..I just go with it. I have changed my own thoughts….I used to be super negative about myself and I kept pushing myself not in motivated way but in a punishing way. I stopped doing that, I pay more attention to the little things in life and only do those things that I truly enjoy.
*What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
    – Being an inspring personal trainer
    – One leg squat. After my PT course I will work on these
    – Pull ups. After my one leg squat challenge
    – Fight instructor: In october I will do a course to become an all round fight instructor…so that is going to be a challenge too
    – In 2013 I will do the Certified Master Ketttlebell program, which includes very specific demands for doing snatches.
    Goals motivate me 🙂
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
Big handfull of nuts (your favourite) crushed to small parts with a food processor, add choclate protein powder and raw cocoa + low fat yoghurt + low fat mik. Add honey if you want to sweeten it up. Mix it well, put it in a baking thing and put it in the oven/microwave for a minute, get it out and slice some parts. Repeat this about two more times and you have small chocolate protein bars 🙂

    • Proper Form Fetish, yep I have that too. When I see bad form It brings the devil out of me, I start getting like the girl from Exorcist LOL, my head would literally spin all around, I am happy you are gonna be a trainer :), I can tell you are gonna be great!

      • hahha iiieeeuuuuuww the exorcist…HELP!
Thanks for the compliment 🙂 *blush* 😛

    • tryste

Respect for you and your goals! You sound like one tough and focused person. Good luck with everything that you’re working on achieving, and thanks for reminding me that I gotta work up to my one-leg squats and pull-ups too 😉

  • tee_w

    hi guys!
I believe if I remember correctly that I saw in my dashboard comments here from work it out yourself, plus I saw you tatianna comment on one of zuzana’s zwows. I believe you defended her to some yahoo! lol and then I noticed alishis (I know I didn’t write that right!) and taltul73 whom I had just started “following” were posting here. so I came and did workouts here because the ones at bodyrock were starting to kind of “suck” lol at the time.
I am usually only low on motivation if I take a day off, so I don’t! unless **** happens! lol I just make them easier when I’m needing a break. and I just force myself back when I have taken days off. I just feel so good when I work out!
I am a positive person so negative thoughts don’t bother me too much. they are just a flicker on the radar of life!
hmmm fitness goals – I’m working on getting my bodyfat lower so I can see my muscles! I also would like to be able to do 10 pullups, and be able to do burpees without dyin’! goals achieved – I can do full pushups, I can do 2 chinups, 10 dips on dip station, can high knees skip most of the time! lol I just managed one leg skipping, managed to do ball pass with totally straight legs the other day, have lost over 30 lbs and about 13% bodyfat
not much of a cook so granny smith apple slices with almond or cashew butter on them but I like the look of your “balls”

    • You are such a ball of sunshine :))), I want to hug you now!

Oh yes I remember Z had a this person constantly talking negative things under her videos, and normally I dont’ even get involved, but I just couldn’t help my self cause this person was getting out of control.

  • Yes I keep that in mind, thank you 🙂

  • Ellen65

I was looking for new workout videos youtube and there you were!! I was so impressed and I continue to be, with your detailed instructions on form. I love that.
If I am low on motivation I usually spend time watching workout videos for a while. It sounds funny maybe but it makes me want to get up and move. I feel inspired by your sweat! Your hard work makes me want to work hard.
Negative thoughts can be overwhelming for me sometimes. I do know that I always feel better after I workout so I try to maintain a regular workout schedule.
Fitness goals- still working on being able to do a real dead hang pull up and a full pistol squat.
A 10 min. treat- mix together a tablespoon or so of peanut butter with a couple of tablespoons of raw rolled oats, a bit of honey and cinnamon, and spread on apple slices.
    cheers everyone.

    • I love all of the quick recipes you guys are sharing, gives me so many ideas – Thank you thank you thank you 🙂

How did you guys discover Loving Fit?

Strangely enough, I discovered Loving Fit through knitting! Or at least I like to think of it that
way, LOL. As well as being a fitness enthusiast, I’m an avid knitter and part of an online community of knitters and crocheters on a site called Within that community someone established a group for enthusiasts of a similar fitness website,, which I joined over a year ago (when was a lotdifferent than it is now!). The Bodyrockers and knitters there all talk back and forth about fitness, nutrition, handcrafting and all kinds of other things.

At some point after all the changes started happening over on the Bodyrock site, someone put up a thread on the discussion board about Zusana’s new ZWOW workouts on Youtube and your site, calling you a “new fitness guru”. With that recommendation, I absolutely HAD to check you out and have now basically “converted” to Loving Fit. This is where I’m finding a ton of new inspiration and support for my fitness goals! I think I mentioned this before, but I’ll say it again – thank you a million times over for that. It’s this kind of thing that keeps me balanced, healthy, happy and just plain sane!

What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?

Remembering why I do this, which is for three reasons: 1) to live a long and happy life, 2) to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin, and 3) to climb “big f*ck-off” mountains (to use a good British term). I keep a postcard of the Matterhorn in my gym bag and put it up in my workout area when I’m there.

Also, I watch new/old fitness routines to be inspired by new exercises and great physiques, and
watch/ listen to fitness experts that inspire me, like Jillian Michaels.

How do you conquer a negative thought?

By recognizing it for what it is – a negative thought– and then stopping for a moment to examine it, then try to learn from it and change it into something positive. Like you, Tati, I try to redirect the negativity as much as I can!

What are your fitness goals? What have you achieved so far?

I mentioned them briefly above, but I’ll go over them again and try to list some achievements this time.

    1) to live a long and happy life: so far I’ve only been doing HIIT seriously for a year and a half, but it
has made a huge difference in my quality of life since I started. I feel happier and more energetic than I have in a long time, and people often comment about how fit I look and that I appear to be about 5 years younger than I actually am.

    2) to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin: this is just as much about having a healthy and
well-functioning body as it is about having a body size and level of muscle tone that I’m happy with. Although I weigh about the same as when I started with HIIT, I’ve lost about 2 dress sizes and shed over 8% body fat. Last summer I found myself able to fearlessly put on shorts, and I’m looking forward to doing the same again this year once the weather allows it. People in the gym often mistake me for a personal trainer, and several of the trainers in the gym have admired my dedication, form, strength, endurance and muscle tone and asked if they can work out with me. In my book, that kind of thing is the mark of accomplishment … and it’s so new that I’m still trying to wrap my head around it, LOL!

    3) to climb “big f*ck-off” mountains (to use a good British term): this was the initial reason to start
getting fit, and it was in researching training methods and programs that I came across and HIIT. Since starting, I’ve made summit attempts on two volcanoes in the Cascade Range (Mt Adams and Mt Rainier — I’m originally from Washington State) and will go for my second attempt on both in the coming weeks. I’ve climbed several smaller ones in Germany and Switzerland, my biggest
accomplishment being the Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany) via the Höllental route. That was one of the most amazing days of my life!

What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?

I don’t have an exact recipe to share with everyone, but I have a go-to in-my-head recipe for salad that I make most nights of the week with whatever salad vegetables I have on hand. I usually start with a base of whatever lettuce came in my weekly organic produce box, but sometimes I pick up either arugula or baby spinach from the local shops. Then I add a mix of my favorite veggies; tomatoes, bell peppers, radishes and beets are my favorites, but I also usually have carrots and cucumber in the fridge (again, thanks to the produce-box people!). Then I throw in tuna fish, low-fat mozzarella or feta cheese, either sunflower or pumpkin seeds (toasted), and finish with a dressing of oil, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper and dried salad herbs (sometimes whole-grain mustard and a teaspoon of honey, too). Quinoa and kidney beans also often find their way into the salad bowl. I have this whole thing down to a science that can be thrown together in just about 10 minutes flat.

    • You are just awesome! That’s a first time I meet someone who climbs mountains, that is way cool! Usually we verbally use the words climb a mountain, but you actually do that! Super cool!

I’ve never tried knitting, but I love to sew, when I worked in the show with my husband I mad costumes for our group and my aerial costumes as well, I really want to start making my own workout outfits.

I was reading your recipe and I got hungry, gonna get me some arugula salad :).

      • tryste

Hey, thanks! Yeah, mountaineering is something that I’m still relatively new to, but it is one hell of a thrill, let me tell you. And you learn so much about yourself and life every time you’re on a mountain — or at least that’s my experience. Each time I’ve come away from a climb I feel so much richer and stronger for it, even if I didn’t make it to the top. It’s just too bad that there aren’t any mountains up here where I live. I guess there aren’t any in your neighborhood though either 😉

I would SO love to learn to sew at some point and totally admire that you can! I’d also be curious to see what kind of workout outfits you would create because you have such great style. Then again, if you make some, maybe you’d better keep them away from the camera, because I’m sure many of us would be badgering you to make us some too, LOL! 🙂

Hope you enjoyed your salad! I think you mentioned on one of your posts somewhere how much you like arugula salad, too, and I was remembering that when I wrote my answer 🙂

  • Christina I am so happy you found me :)), exited to have more positive people join the community :)))). Let me know if you ever have any questions 🙂

  • Elena Kozlovsky

    1. My discovery of your blog is similar to everyone: I was looking for a change after following BR for almost 3 years. I still appreciate what they did and are doing for all of us and sometimes use their routines in my workout schedule. You caught my attention by promoting the split routines process and I am so happy because I can see better results now that I am following your advise. Your personal touch, your commitment in answering our comments and liking our FB posts is amazing, It is nice to feel that you care. I also love your informational posts on nutrition, on your lifestyle etc. You do your research and you are knowledgeable about things you are talking about. Thank you!
    2. My motivation is often found in posts on my newsfeed on FB from various fitness sites. Every time I log in I see strong, fit and sexy people and read motivational posts and see new workouts posted. This makes me go and workout.
    3. Negative thoughts can be tough to fight. I ask myself a question: Can I change something to make this negative thought disappear? If yes, I do the change. If no, I try not to stress about it.
    4. Under 10 minute recipe: I LOVE EGGS. So an omelet with some type of veggies and mushrooms is my favourite thing to eat and make. Any time of the day )

    • Yes I noticed that so many of you discovered me almost the same, I’ve been so curious for a while. I always read through all of the FB posts you guys post, cause I like to know what you guys are up to and get to know you better 🙂

..How did you guys discover Loving Fit?
I was browsing for hiit workouts and found your abs hiit. I am a Z fan and a Kyla Gagnon fan as well. I was looking for addition workouts and fitness tips. You immediately became a favorite. You’re genuine, friendly, take the time to respond to comments (heck even just posting the comments is a huge bonus), and I trust your advice. You’re my #1 lovely.
..What keeps you going when you are low on motivation?
Honestly, I just do it. I don’t think about it too much. I just don’t. My body remembers how excellent it is to complete a workout and a great stretch. That is all the motivation I need. BUT if you mean something else, like silly work/chore stuff.. I grumble & mumble and just jump into to so I can be done. I always do the chores before I enjoy or relax, so for me, it is better to just get it done so I can stop stressing!!
..How do you conquer a negative thought?
Still trying to figure this out. In general I am not very pleased with a lot of things in my life. I have great things,I really do, but the challenging things become my focus. I feel stuck and like I don’t have any way to make Anything better.
.. What are your fitness goals ? What have you achieved so far?
To be healthy. To eat healthy. To have the energy from food to be physical and healthy. I am recovering from purging. I needed the focus on how food is a fuel, it does help my body to be healthy and strong. I need the proper fuel to be healthy and fit. That is still my goal, 2 years later. Eat and enjoy eating because it helps me enjoy being healthy.
What is your favorite recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
Lol, well it is blueberries and banana mixed with Greek yogurt. A recipe, I don’t know, but delicious and my go to snack.

    • Ahh thank you, you are so sweet :),

it is a great way to motivate your self by remembering how amazing it feels after, I use this little method too and it works like a charm every time!
