Making Health and Fitness Changes To Reach The Sky!

Making Healthy Choices

Let’s start of by saying, if you want to loose weight fast, then keeping it off will go just as fast as it came.   Like everything in life, money, fame, beauty you name it, if it came easy, it will go away even easier.  It is all about knowing the maintaining process.   I am not saying it has to be dreadful and hard, but you have to put some dedication to get what you want.

I heard these few words that kind of rub me the wrong way a little ” Be realistic “, or ” Set realistic goals “.   And most of these few words were said by the people who are trying to teach other people about fitness, but yet them selves are over weight.  I would like to be as diplomatic as I can about it, so don’t get all freaked out right away.

What does it mean realistic goals?   Of course, if you are 5 ft tall, realistically you can’t become 6 ft. But if you are 100 or more lb’s overweight does that mean you can’t get in shape and have a 6 pack? Because someone told you it’s not realistic?   Yes You Can! With dedication to your nutritional plan and exercise regimen you can do anything you want,  and it’s realistic.   If you can imagine it, you can have it.

Help your mind and body become fit

1. Change the way you think about your self.

Our image comes mainly from what others told us, about us.   If you really think about where your thoughts about your self came from, you can always pull the string to our parents, friends and people around us.  Our bad reality comes from others.   To change your own self image and separate it from what others told you, you have to use positive affirmations.
No matter what you see in the mirror now, and no matter what you think you believe, everything can start to change this very moment.
When you wake up every morning, and before you go to sleep, visualize what you want to be.   How you want to look or feel.   Just the thought process alone will start moving all the energy around you towards that goal.  Determination is everything. If someone told you in the past that you are not beautiful, or not special enough,  accept that as a lie.   You are your own person now, create you own reality.

2. Make a decision to change your life

There is two kinds of people, those who make a decision and those who think about it.   If you want change, make a decision to change.   Form a plan in your head, and write it down.  Make it the biggest plan no matter how crazy it might look.  Difficulty is only an illusion, that’s keeping you from reaching your goals. Keep your head straight upon the finish line and distractions will not be as visible.

3. Don’t go on a crazy diet

Crazy diets don’t work.  If it sounds too good to be true, it always is.  What works is eliminating processed foods, refined sugars and soda drinks.   Also substituting bad foods for good foods, I wrote about it in this article.
Don’t count calories like it’s money. It will drive you more crazy.  This doesn’t mean you can go on a pie eating frenzy or order two plates at the Cheese Cake factory.  Just eat 5 sensible meals a day.

4. Don’t take Diet Pills

I am sure you’ve seen the funny commercial on TV, where a stand-up comedian describes the side effects on a diet pill bottle:  Fast heart beat, loss of breath, vomiting, diarrhea, shivering and head aches ( something like that ).   And then she says ” Nice, with side effects like these I will be loosing weight in no time ”
Doesn’t that sound ridiculous?   Well, it is.  If you look at any diet pill that is ever created, there is always side effects.   And I am not talking about loosing weight.

5. Do an Herbal Cleanse every 3 month’s

A good cleanse is your way to a clean insides.  But go herbal. Like herbal cleansing tea’s. You can find them at your local health store.
If you can afford it, do a colon cleanse.   Cleanses allow your organs to breath and naturally get rid of toxins in your body.

6. Start your workout plan slowly and make it fun

Always start out slowly.   If you begin to over work your self from the start, you will grow tired of it really quickly and end up just giving up.  Because in the beginning, you have to get your body getting use to exercising, and later you will naturally crave the feeling and want to add more.
Always find ways of making your workouts fun. Get a new workout outfit to get your self motivated. It always helps me :). Or find a fun piece of equipment you can incorporate into your workout, I do that all the time and it makes me look forward to my workouts.

7. Get into a routine

Our minds as well as our bodies love a good routine.   Have you ever had something you started doing by accident and then found your self wanting to do it all the time.   I know I do 🙂 I have a very similar routine almost every day.  I get up, I brew my coffee, I drink my usual full bottle of water ( Reusable bottle, that I never go anywhere without ) and when my coffee machine beeps, I enjoy a cup with my book before starting my day.   The same goes for my workout and eating habits. They are a routine, but a very enjoyable routine. Find an enjoyable routine that is healthy, and you can stick with. Like having a delicious salad with a multi- grain bread every day for lunch.

8. Stay active on your days off

When I say active, I mean do something that makes you feel good and keeps your body moving. ( Walking around your house from your bed to the fridge doesn’t count ).  Go out to a park, go out somewhere.  If you don’t want to go out, just get a jump rope and find 5 minutes through out the day to use it.  Jump the rope 2 or 3 times a day for 5 minutes.  It’s a fun way to keep you moving.

9. DO NOT get a workout buddy

Before you get all worked up let me explain.  I tend not to favor working out with others.   Because it throws away your focus.   When you always have someone else around, you begin to chat and chat some more, it becomes just a waste of time.   Plus, you become dependent on the other person so much, that when they decide to take a day off, you naturally decide to do that as well.   And then that’s how most people get stuck and going back to their old ways. You need your focus to get to your goals, and the only person that can help you get there is you. Have buddies and partners to go out with, but not to work out with.

10. Always remember, you are what you want to be!

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.   I heard parents tell their over weight kids, that it’s their genetics and they can do nothing about it. “You meant to be bigger then other people, it’s in your genes and that’s who you are, get use to it”
That’s a big fat lie! There is a proven scientific evidence that your genetics can be altered. You are your own person, your diet and activity level is what makes you the person you are today. You are always in control of your life, You!  Not Your Genetics!

I hope you enjoyed the post and if you would like to add something leave me a comment 🙂
