Today, I wanted to share with you some very interesting information I found on one of my favorite foods.  Raw Honey.

Raw honey,  has been around way before table sugar or any artificial sugar was invented.   But not only has it been used as a sweetener,   but it has also been used for it’s healing properties and cosmetic benefits as well.

Raw honey boosts your immunity and your digestive system because it has 27 minerals, 22 amino acids and about 500 live enzymes in one table spoon.

Unlike processed and refined sugar, honey is easily digestible by your body.  In order for your body to digest sugar, it has to take away it’s own nutrients to process it.

Honey also helps to metabolize fatty acid. If you are trying to loose weight, it’s very beneficial to your diet.  Honey and lemon mixture helps your body to shift the extra fat stores, making it usable energy for regular body functions.

I really love to eat a table spoon before my workouts, it gives me an energy boost, to push through. I found out that honey can help with muscle fatigue, I  have to agree.   On several different days, I compared not taking honey before my usual workout and taking honey.  On the days that I didn’t take it, I felt way more sore than usual.  I would recommend it.

Beauty Benefits of Raw Honey

Cleopatra the most famed Queen of Egypt was bathing her self in milk and honey bath’s.   I actually do that my self, because I love how my skin feels after.

If you want to take a day to pamper your self, take a gallon of Milk and a Jar of Raw honey and pour it into your half filled bath tub. Soak in it for 20 minutes and your skin will be exfoliated ( milk is a natural exfoliant ) and soft.   You will feel like a Goddess :)

Honey is also very popular in anti aging and is added in many moisturizers.

But what I love to do, is use it as a face scrub and a face mask.

Raw Honey For your face

Take a hand full of ground almonds and mix it with a tea spoon of raw honey, it will take your’s skin’s breath away together with the dead skin cells.

Use it as a mask for clarifying and unclogging your pores, also adds really nice softness to your skin.

Raw Honey For your Hair

Smooth honey after shampooing ( I don’t use shampoo, but many people do )
from root to tip.  Leave in on for 20 minutes, and you got a deep conditioner that will leave your hair soft and shiny.
