Home Made Spelt Flower Bread Recipe

Mar 1, 2011 by

I decided to give up on store made bread completely. Because every time I look at the ingredients list I find something that I can’t pronounce. From now on I want to make all of my food at home. And it doesn’t take that long to mix all the ingredients together and put into the stove.

The reason I picked spelt flower is because of the nutrition value over wheat. I will post info about it in another post.

Here is what you will need:

1. Organic Spelt Flower

2. A cup of oatmeal ( old fashioned )

3. Two Eggs

4. About 2 cups of soy milk

5. Agave Nectar

6. A hand full of sliced almonds

7. Agave nectar ( I add it to taste, no specific amount )

8. Sea Salt

9. Baking soda

10. Olive Oil ( I forgot to add it to the picture )

Set your stove for 350 degrees.

Mix Soy Milk,  Agave Nectar, Sea Salt and Soy Milk in a blender.

Take spelt flower and put into a mixing bowl.

Add two eggs, and about 4 table spoons of olive oil, also add the blended mixture.

Mix it with your hands and make it into a dough.

Then you can play with it and make it into any shape you like.   I choose the round shape as you can see in the picture below.

Take a hand full of almonds and drop it on top of the dough.

Push it on with your hands to make sure they stick.

Place it on a baking tray and put it into the stove.

Set your timer for 1 hour.

Then go read a book,  or watch a fun show to make the time go by faster.

After your timer beeps,   your bread is ready to take out 🙂

Cool it for 10 minutes,  cut and enjoy!

Let me know what you think 🙂
