Meet Me On Monday

Hello My Lovies,

Welcome to the 27th Edition of Monday Mingle and the first Mingle of 2013, a question answer game we play every Monday to get to know each other better and just have fun. Each Monday I ask 5 questions and we all get to answer them and mingle around.

This Week’s Quote:

“Celebrate you this year. Not some achievement or success – just the walking, talking breathing miracle that you are. Nature itself reflects back to us our magnificence. If you look closely, there is glory in every leaf, every petal, every sunbeam. The glory is also in you. It is you. “

I shared this quote on my Facebook the other day. It’s from my 2013 Calendar. I absolutely love this quote, I think it’s definitely good food for thought. We all need to celebrate our selves, I don’t think a lot of people do that often, but we should.

And now for this weeks questions:

  • Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?

  • What are your tips on Self Discipline?

  • How do you deal with Fear?

  • Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?

  • Do you keep a diary?

My Answers:

Q – Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

I absolutely love rain, I love the feeling I get when it’s raining. It’s so inspiring and puts me in a very creative mood. Plus I live in FL where its super sunny 300 days out of the year, so when it rains I’m in heaven :).

Q – What are your tips on Self Discipline?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

Before my self discipline was on of a politician, I was so disciplined, but lately I’ve stopped putting so much pressure on my self and decided to step back and just chill out. I’ve noticed when we let go of trying to control everything in our life things just fall into place on their own and we naturally become disciplined when we need to be.

Q – How do you deal with Fear?

Mee Me On Monday

My Answer:

It depends on what kind of fear it is. But I do have a very good advice about it, my husband Miguel had really helped me with this one. He always tells me that the most important thing anyone can do in life is to Know Thy Self ( this has nothing to do with religion of any kind, just and expression we love ). Because if you Know Thy Self you will realize that there is nothing to fear. To Know Thy Self, is to find out who you really are on the inside, the real you not what you see in the mirror. When fear enters my mind I close my eyes and I tell my self “This is just an illusion of my physical self, but there is another truth, because I know this truth, there is nothing to be afraid of, ever “.

Q – Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

I do like to plan everything, but sometimes I can also wing it.

Q – Do you keep a diary?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

Yes, I do. I keep different diaries for different things. I have a Morning Pages Diary, where I write 2 pages every morning of what ever comes to mind just to clear my head ( lately I have been lazier with this one ). I also have a diary where I write my ideas and random thoughts. I also have a diary where I write proses and poems, or sayings that I come up with.

Let’s Mingle my Lovies!

Lot’s of beginning of the week hugs,

Tati

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?
Sunny days. Although I do not handle very hot weather (above 30 degrees celcius) very well. On sunny days people are happier, you can go outside, you can stay inside if you want to. With rainy days you are forced to stay inside. But in general I like to be outside. Also in The Netherlands you bicycle is on of the most important means of transport, this is not so much fun when its raining.

What are your tips on Self Discipline?
    - find people that inspire you
    - ask yourself if you do not have the self discipline and do not make the effort what the outcome would be and if that outcomes makes you happy. Its often not so, so then you push yourself. If NOT doing something makes you happy its probably the best option.

How do you deal with Fear?
Not listening to it. Having said that…recently I went through some stuff which has made me more insecure again. I am pushing myself to not to listening to it but I take smaller steps now. Also when I am scared of something I think about why I am scared of it and I prepare very well for the occasion or whatever it is. But if I want it I will go after it, one way or the other.

Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?
Professionally I am very well organised, personally I like to relax more about it. I am most strict about planning my workouts. The rest is less organised.

    Do you keep a diary?
Nope, not anymore. I do record my fav. workouts and scores, but that is the only form of diary I keep.

Nice questions! I think I will learn a lot of everybody that will mingle today :)

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

I love your answers, I am learning a lot from you just by reading them. We definitely have to find people that inspire us, I used to discipline my self this way a long time ago and it does work like a charm.

Fear is definitely tricky, I think it’s something we have to work on for the rest of our life, and master it each time a little more.

    Helloo !!

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?
Depends, if I’m at home and I haven’t anything to do. Then I like the rain (but with lightning & thunder :D ), else I prefer sunny days.
What are your tips on Self Discipline?
Before and after pictures from “everyone” (they keep me motivated, to stay on my self discipline) :)
How do you deal with Fear?
I like to fight against it. For me there are no reasons to run away, because one or another day it will come.
Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?
Depends of the situation, but i like to have many things already prepared.
    Do you keep a diary?
A food diary xD and my scores. I like to control myself.

    Have a nice day ^-^

    • SuSu

I love the thunder and lightening too…it is the best part!

      • ? FitLover ? Beth ?

That is heartbreaking ! LoL :D

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

      I love thunder too :)

  • http://www.paleoowl.com/ Nina_CZ

Hi Tati! I am super sore from you Leg Slimming workout, so today I only did a nice slow stretching for my legs. Heading to work in an hour, so I still have time to mingle! :D
    1) I prefer sunny day. I don’t like when it is too hot though, so warm sunny autumn is a time for me :)) I like a light rain in summer too. When it rains, I like to stay home. And my problem is that I always carry an umbrella with me, but on a rainy days it seems to crawl out of my backpack and hide somewhere home :D
    2) I like writing things down to make them more official and that makes me stick to them more. Also when I share something I wanna do with my boyfriend, I am more likely to actually do that, because I don’t wanna disappoint me and I don’t wanna disappoint him.
    3) I can’t think of anything I fear right now, so I really don’t know how to answer this… :)
    4) I WANNA be organized, but I slack a lot. I usually plan things, but most of the time I don’t stick to my plans and schedules. I am trying to work on this, and it is one of my 2013 resolutions :)
    5) The only diary I keep is a Workout Log :)))

Have a great week, Tati! :)

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

      Hi Nina :)

I love warm sunny autumn days too, but we rarely have them here, I miss the beautiful autumn in Russia, I bet you have a gorgeous autumn in Prague :)

      Have fun at work!

    Happy Monday Mingle!

    SUNNY OR RAINY?

I love warm weather rain – especially the kind where you step outside and are soaked to the bone in a flash. Having said that though, it’s rare where I live, so I’ll take the sun most days! :)

    SELF DISCIPLINE TIPS

I personally find freedom in discipline – which I know, sounds like a paradox – but it’s true. So I try to keep in mind what I really want and why I want it – focussing on the feeling of it. For example, when I was in the best shape of my life I remember having an “ah ha” moment. Even though I loved what I looked like, it was the FEELING that was really magical. I try to channel into that whenever I need a dose of discipline.

    FEAR

I can imagine as a trapeze artist Miguel would have some good tips for overcoming fear! Similar to how you’ve learned to deal with fear I try to remind myself it doesn’t really matter. What others think (the biggest source of most fear) doesn’t really matter in the big picture – plus, it’s something you can never really control anyway!

    ORGANIZED OR WING IT?

I LOVE being organized! It’s part of who I am at the core of my being, so I’ve embraced it! LOL I used to get defensive when people would call me anal retentive, but now I smile and say “I KNOW! Thank You!” :)

    DIARY

I used to journal and really miss it. It’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately – this must be a sign! :) I always had such great insights when I wrote – like higher intelligence was streaming through me. Sometime I read old journals and think “Who wrote that?! That’s so insightful!” LOL – I think it’s time to start again.

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

      Happy Monday Dheana!!!

OHH yes Miguel has the best tips on fear or life in general, I always tell him that he is a natural born therapist, people always go to him for advice, he just has this power over people to calm them down and make them think. He deals with fear daily, I used to think he is not afraid because he’s been doing it for so long, but one day he told me that he is very afraid and every day he has to talk him self into not being afraid.

( Anal Retentive ) Ha Ha Ha – how cute :)

I think you should get back to writing in your journal again, it’s a very useful tool into understanding our progress through life. I look at my old journal entries and I’m like WOW I’ve changed so much, who is that person. You actually see your self going through different stages, and that is very interesting.

    • ? FitLover ? Beth ?

Loved the “I used to get defensive when people would call me anal retentive, but now I smile and say “I KNOW! Thank You!” part :)

& I think I liked it b/c I’m currently working on getting over one of my biggest fears & that is SHARING knowledge from my own inner world with others as I it had many negative effects on me when I did it in the past but.. now you gave me the courage to get over it & be proud of what
I love doing & makes me feel satisfied & accountable to my goals !

Love reading your honest comments.. Keep it up girl !

      Heavenly day <3

      • http://www.dheanadavid.wordpress.com/ Dheana

“Heavenly day” – what a lovely thing to wish a person! I’m sure you don’t mind, but I may borrow that!
I’m really glad to hear my answers inspired you to be proud of what you love doing. My mama always taught me I was here for a very unique purpose – we all are! But you’re right, it takes courage to stand out in a world that seems to want to dictate who and what we should be. I think the passions within us are there for a reason and part of the gift we can give to the world. I’m glad you’re deciding to embrace yours!
Hope your day is heavenly too sweet Beth! :)

I really enjoyed reading your answers. I think that there is something special about these questions, I have a feeling that a lot of things come together (just like in my personal life right now) (Sorry for my bla bla bla :P )

  • SuSu

SUNNY OR RAINY: sunny!!! I know how important rain is so I do welcome it, but I absolutely love sunny and warm days (that are not humid).
SELF-DISCIPLINED: I stay focused on my goals. I have a pretty strong will power and can resist a lot of bad things. I am not easily influenced.
OVERCOMING FEAR: I don’t really get fearful over anything because I know it is out of my control.
ORGANIZED OR WING IT: depends what it is. I usually wing it but something I have to keep organized. And by organized, I mean I never keep a planner and haven’t had a calendar in years. Lol
DIARY: I keep an exercise diary and have a few notebooks for poetry or whatever, although I only keep my exercise diary all the time. I would like to get back into it more.

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

I was just about to say you will love FL but then I read where you said ( that are not humid ), yes here it’s crazy humid.

      • SuSu

Yea last time I flew into FL in July and got off the plane, I thought I was going to die. I like Southern California weather!

  • http://www.lovingfit.com/ Lvette_1

    Salute friends…I’m happy to mingle.

At the beginning of the year for the last 10 years I read out loud my favorite quote and make a promise to always remember the truth of this quote.
“You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.”

    1. I like both rainy and sunny. Rain fall reminds me of a cleanse, and the bright sun afterward feels like a new beginning.

    2. I like routines, they don’t have to be steadfast all the time. Having routines brings me back easily when I cease to be in balance.

    3. I feel the fear then let go. The fear of lossing love ones was a constant fear of mine. 2002 my dad and I got sick and we started reading The Tibetan Book Of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche. Somehow we both came to terms with what was happening. I still experience this fear ( last one was in November) when going through any kind of change or don’t get enough rest but I’m able to let it go quickly.
Tati, I like how you deal with fear..you were a big help to me in November.
    4. Mostly organised.
    5. I can’t do this… I’ve tried and tried. I don’t like writing stuff down and keeping it. I tend to write thing down then rip it up. I only started writing out workout in 2009 when I started doing free online routines before this I just went to the gym and worked out and never wrote anything down.

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

      Hello love :)

OMG I just saw that quote on Facebook the other day and I absolutely loved it, and now you are sharing it, its’ a total sign :))))

I am so happy to help sweetie, you have been a huge help to me as well, I am so thankful for your friendship. I used to also live in fear of losing loved ones, but the more I lived the more I understood death and the easier it had become.

      • http://www.lovingfit.com/ Lvette_1

        The feeling is mutual

  • ? FitLover ? Beth ?

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day? Wheather-wise I prefer Sunny days as I can suffer the heat, but beauty-wise I love both ! :)

What are your tips on Self Discipline? Knowing your Goal

How do you deal with Fear? My only fear is NOT knowing my Goal…

Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life? Being organized makes me feel more kinda confidence of what I’m about, so yes- I do try to schedule things out !

Do you keep a diary? Yup ! :) Write once in a while. Usually about those situations that made me think… & I try to work on them then !

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

I like how you said that your only fear is not knowing your goal, I think that is very true because if we don’t know our goals then how can we achieve something.

      • ? FitLover ? Beth ?

You can actaully say/name it in so many different ways..

But yeah it does all starts from the peace within, and, you know, once you get to know something- & you keep learning & explore more about it- once you’re Focused, it suddenly shines upon so many different topics & everything’s being made understandable. the more you know about it the more areas would brighten..

Have a wonderful day my love !!!!!!! <3

  • Katerina Gjorgievska

    Hello everybody :)

    1. I love sunny, but not hot days. I don’t like it when it rains and it’s cold, but summer rain really makes me feel fresh and alive :)

    2. I can be very disciplined only if I have the right motivation. I don’t like to do things that are pointless to me. If I truly believe in the purpose of doing something, I am very persistent.

    3. I don’t like to be faced with my fears, and I often panic. Still, if I believe it is really important to overcome something I fear, I will definitely try my best to do it. I just don’t like to be forced to deal with something right away, I prefer to do it in time.

    4. I am definitely organized. I am slow and I don’t like surprises. As time goes by, I realize that I need to learn to be more adjustable and accept changes more easily.

    5. I don’t keep a diary. I have monologues in my head all the time, and if I wrote it all down, I wouldn’t know where to begin :)

    • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

Hey maybe you should start writing down your monologues, I bet you can find something interesting if you connect them all :)

      • 1Ivana

I was thinking the same thing about my monologues just last night!?!!?!How strange is that..??

      • Lili Suke

:) I also have a lot of monologues in my head :) good advice Tati, I will also try to write them down:)

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

    Love Mingling! :)

**Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?

Totally depends. If I HAD to choose one, it would be sunny. But here in California it is sunny almost every day of the year, so sometimes a little rain is nice and cozy. :)

**What are your tips on Self Discipline?

I keep writing things and crossing them out, because I have recently come to realize a few things. Firstly, ideally we should find a way to bring joy into everything we do. Then we don’t need “discipline.” Because honestly, the best way to discipline myself is fear (fear of getting fat, poor, friendless, etc.) and that’s no way to live. I also have realized that telling other people the things that they need to do just about cuts down the probability that they will do them by about 50-90%. I know this is true of me–whenever my mom asked me to do chores I just…wouldn’t do them. The more she asked, the more I wouldn’t. So I think the ideal way to “discipline” is to find a way where you don’t need it! I don’t need to self-discipline with working out because I love it now, and I love the feeling I have when I am done. I love having a strong, lean body. Now, that’s not to say I’m not working on it…I am actively trying to find a way to follow my own advice and find the joy in cleaning…but it’s sooo hard! When I need to clean and don’t want to, my body just gets tired and limp. So anyway…I think the best way is to just take action with joy, including the chores and the things we “have” to do. But it’s a process! :)

**How do you deal with Fear?

Depends. Sometimes I’ll try to release it, a la Sedona Method kind of thing. Sometimes I try to place my mind in a state where I have something taken care of already and I’m remembering how well it went.

**Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?

Depends. Combo of both. I love winging it when I travel. But I like planning certain things that I’m in control of. But I don’t like trying to control things I can’t, like my life in general.

    **Do you keep a diary?

I usually have some diary of some form. Usually it comes and goes. In the last few years its been diaries about specific things. I’m not consistent with them, just like to have an outlet for things.

Happy Monday and Happy New Year everybody!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/pages/BodyworkX/196491690455064 Marilyn Rietveld

OMG!! I LOVE what you said about self dicipline!

      • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

        :D Thanks!

  • 1Ivana

    Hi there…

    so:

1…I live in a place where when it starts to rain it doesn’t stop for weeks..this is a city with most rainy day in all Croatia, it is on that kind of geographical place…so, that said I JUST LOVE SUNNY DAYS

2.TIPS..I really don’t have any tips, this question couldn’t come in a better time because lately I feel like a lost all of my control…something is happening inside of me, and I feel like I am in a storm of some sort

    3. well my biggest fear is to end up alone, and I am not so good in dealing with that…when I was younger I build up that great wall like nothing and nobody can hurt me (now I know reasons why), and in last couple of years I try to take it down, but it is a slow process ( being double Scorpio),..but I ques I deal wit it like that

4.organized..not crazy organized, but I am

5.Diary…no, but I was thinking of writing down my thoughts just night before this mingle came up..so this is a great thing..it is the truth that things come to you when you need them

    kisses to you all

    • Lili Suke

hello Ivana,,,I am also a double scorpio :) yeay! I know exactly what you mean in your point 3.. I went through the same and what helped me is that I actually stayed alone for a while, no boyfriend, no family in the surrounding.. I was just alone in a new country. It helped me to learn about myself and deal with things on my own. I survived! :))and I learned to find happiness in small things on my own. Now I am not so afraid to stay alone(of course I wouldnt like to loose my loved ones, naturally;), because I know that I’ve survived and I can be happy alone as well :)

  • http://www.lovingfit.com Tatianna

    Hi Carline,

Welcome to Loving Fit’s Mingle, so happy to have you here! :)

  • Evaleen

#1 – I have more affinity for a stormy day, but every kind of weather has it’s own profound “spell” of beauty and intrigue (best way I can describe it lol). I can’t do without either really, cause some days I emotionally need that brightness and warmth.
#2 – For me, self-discipline that works has to be the right balance between planning and allowing myself room to breath/be spontaneous. A plan lets me see what’s ahead and makes it easier to keep on track, but too much control and– guaranteed– I’m just gonna SNAP lol.
#3 – Depends on what it is (something temporary or that could affect me permanently) but most of my fears I try to put into perspective, to question/determine if it’s a real problem or just my anxiety. For my worst fear (losing loved ones, whether they’re taken from me or even leave of their own accord) I remind myself that I’ve lost before, dealt with it and can do so again if need be. Nothing has to be “the end”.
#4 – It’s hard to say, cause I’m prone to ditching my plans just as fast as I made them– if the right mood strikes me. But in general, I do need at least some organization to keep things efficient and in control… though I’d rather let life “happen” and enjoy the ride– with hands firmly on the wheel, so to speak. :p
#5 – Journaling is something I’ve wanted to get back to but always end up putting off. Not that I don’t write related things down ALL the time, it’s just randomly on paper/cards or typing on my PC. Problem is, I tend to associate the practice with isolation– this from past experiences where paper and pencil was all I had to express myself. I love and miss in-depth writing, but it’s just a loneliness that hurts to remember.

And I love the quote you chose, :) though I’m a bit hypocritical about it… I always “celebrate” loved ones and remind them of the very things in that quote, but it’s hard to do the same for myself. Somehow it doesn’t make sense to me. :p

  • Lili Suke

hello everyone. Thank you Tati for the new mingle, this has taken me a little longer. I love the mingles, because they make me think of things I wouldn’t otherwise:)

#1) I prefer sunny days as I live in Switzerland and it really rains a lot here…

#2) Hmm..I am a quite disciplined person, when it comes to things which I like :) So I guess liking something makes a natural way to discipline ourselves. I like the feeling after the workout, and I dont think about it anymore. I just do it, because I love it:) However, at the beginning it really helped to start with a friend of mine. We were always pushing each other to workout, when one didnt feel like it. In things, which are not so much fun, like cleaning, I do it by imagining the clean house and the nice feeling after sitting down when everything smells nice and clean :) Imagining the results makes a great discipline for me.

#3) This is a tricky one;) I think I have dealed with most of my fears by actually doing them. I am very afraid of heights, so I started climbing :) I was really afraid for staying alone, so I did stay alone for a while, where I didnt have my family, or boyfriend next to me. When I realized, that I can actually have fun and enjoy these states, I was not afraid of these situations any more (or at least less afraid). Of course I still have fears of loosing my loved ones and more things, but I try to tell to myself, that I will be fine and I can continue my life.I also try to care a lot for my loved ones, so the time doesn’t go by without them knowing that I care and love them.

#4)I am not really organized when it comes to trips or fun things, I like to improvise, in general. I am quite organized at work, but I could be more ;)

#5) I dont keep any diaries. I have just started a workout diary. I used to write a lot before, and I think I will start it again.

    Thank you for reading :)

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?
°sunny (rainy only when it´s hot)

What are your tips on Self Discipline?
°love yourself!, make mistakes and learn from them (=fall down and get up!), make things with pleasure and things will thrive forward, reflect your goals (be focused, visualize your goals), stay on track

How do you deal with Fear?
°watch it, meditate and it disappears, don´t give emotions to much attention! do it like kids, they cry for one minute and in the next they are playing again ;)

Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?
°I´m spontaneous person but if I have a plan and written it down it´s a plan that will be done!!

    Do you keep a diary?
° No, but I have to write down thoughts of the day sometimes. thoughts that come in my mind to understand things bedder. ..no need to conserve them. really important things that I believe in or want that other know them some day I write down in a special book.

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day? – Sunny, rainy, cold, windy days make me sad.

What are your tips on Self Discipline? – I have OCD, I have no idea how to just let go lol

How do you deal with Fear? – I don’t, my anxiety disorder makes it very difficult, I’m scared of fear itself which makes me be always scared just in case I get scared, weird. I’m learning to facing fears and go step by step :)

Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life? – I’m actually the most unorganised person ever, seriously, I’m horrible!

Do you keep a diary? – No, just my tumblr which work as a diary as well some days.

  • Alice

Do you prefer a Sunny day or a Rainy Day?
Sunny days. I think that even the most awful place can look beautiful in a sunny morning. But I love when it’s sunny and rainy at the same time, it’s magic!

What are your tips on Self Discipline?
I’ve always been very self-disciplined with the things I really care. Actually, I’m trying to be a little bit more relaxed… so my tip would be: be kind with yourself.

How do you deal with Fear?
I try to see the exciting, adventurous or funny side of the situation. I also think of myself as a child – like almost every kid, I though to be almighty and destined to succeed in everything, back then.

Are you an organized person or do you just wing it about life?
I am the most disorganized person I know. When someone asks me about my projects for my future, I like to answer that it is to have a pizza for dinner :)

    Do you keep a diary?
Yes, but I should start again to do it properly. More relaxed, reflexive and positive. Currently, I just wrote down what appens about a certain part of my life, and not in a constructive way. Also, it’s been a very long time since I don’t keep a *real* diary, currently I write my things on a text file on my laptop. Orrible. I used to love the phisical side of writing, holding a pen, cover a white page with words. I think it really helps a lot to clear your mind.
