A Thought For Today And My Favorite Meal Recipe

Healthy Easy Recipe

Today after a really nice meditation I had the most incredible meal. I use to eat things like that when I was little all the time. As I was eating it, it made me think a lot about my childhood.
Some of the most incredible memories I had,  was when I went to the village with my cousin ( It was her grandmother’s village ). I grew up in Moscow ( a huge city ), but for some reason I really love the small village life. The nature there is incredible, the people are very nice and the food in absolutely delicious.

I remember going to the forest with my cousin, collecting berries and mushrooms for dinner. And at night we would sit up and look at the stars and drink real milk, fresh from the cow. Back then, there was no such thing as hormones in food, or pesticides in fruits and veggies, and there was no such things as low fat or fat free. It was always real food, just the way it was meant to be.

Today, for the most part I stick with that principle. The only thing I eat low fat is cottage cheese, because it is the only way it comes ( my favorite brand that is ). And I don’t drink cow’s milk, because too much dairy can makes my stomach hurt.

But I did discover Ricotta Cheese today, it was delicious and I added it to a huge bowl of berries and walnuts. I thought this was going to be just a snack, but after eating it, I am stuffed, so it turned out to be dinner.

Here is the whole recipe ( no cooking required 😉 )

  • A handful of Blueberries
  • A handful of Raspberries
  • 6-8 Strawberries
  • a handful of walnuts
  • 3 huge tablespoons of Ricotta Cheese ( made with whole milk, NOT low fat or fat free ).
  • If you like you can also add some Raw Honey for sweetness, but I didn’t add any.

A few words on low-fat, fat-free and sugar free foods

I believe that the obesity rate in the world, started raising when processed foods became available on the market. If you really think about it, by eating those kinds of foods, you are trying to trick your body into not storing fat right?
But it doesn’t work that way, our bodies cannot tolerate processed foods, so even though you think by eating fat-free that you might not gain weight, but in reality you are damaging your liver and that will make you gain weight.
My advice would always be, eat real food, but everything has to be in moderation, meaning – eat when you’re hungry, don’t eat when you are not, and don’t stuff your face!
