Protein Bar Recipe

This is a super easy recipe to make.  It requires only 3 ingredients and no cooking.  This recipe was inspired by Larabars.  It’s a first time I tried it and I really loved how they turned out.

The Ingredients:

Protein Bar Recipe

1. Two cups of Dates ( Not Pitted )

2. Three Large Spoons of Smuckers Crunchy Peanut Butter

3.  Two full scoops of Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein Powder

Take the bones out from the Dates.  Cut the dates into the smallest pieces( as small as you can get it ).

Next add the Peanut Butter and the Whey Isolate Protein Powder.

Mix it with your hand, it is much easier to do it that way. Now make it  into several bar shapes and wrap them with plastic wrapper.

Refrigerate for an hour or two.

These protein bars make a really good snack and they are very filling.  I ate one two hours ago and I am still full.

You can also play with the recipe and add other ingredients or use Almond Butter, Cashew Butter instead of the Peanut Butter.  You can also add Organic Coconut Flakes, Walnuts, Dried Apples or any other Dried Fruit.  Just make sure the dried fruit you buy doesn’t have added sugar in it.

    Hey Tatianna !!! :)

Love your recipes ! so good & healthy yet simple ! :)
I’ve noticed your’e prefering using Dried fruits over Fresh – is that b/c ther’e more kinda satisfying ?
One more Q – Can I also do this recipe w/out the Whey protein ? (unfortunately it causes me lots of gas & bloating)

    Thanks !

      Hi Beth,

I use dried fruit cause it’s a bit more sweeter and last longer without tasting weird.  And of course you don’t need to use whey, back then I used to but right now it’s been several weeks that I’ve had any protein powder.

Hehe, “bones” out of the dates, cute. :D And for anyone wanting to try them, those look like medjool dates–and they are SO freakin good! Deliciously chewy, the perfect ingredient for both moistness and sweetness. And chunky peanut butter, lordy… there couldn’t be a recipe more suited to my tastes :D definitely gonna try this, thanks!! I wonder how a little added cocoa powder would taste as well? :)

And speaking of cocoa, have you ever seen this recipe Tatianna? It’s for “No Bake Brownies”.

I love this recipe myself, I tweaked it for a two-serving portion:
    - 30 grams (1/4 cup) raw walnuts or pecans
    - 3 medjool dates, pits removed
    - 14 grams (2 tblsp) raw cocoa powder (or regular cocoa, just choose a quality brand with a flavor you love)
    - Teeny pinch of kosher salt
    - About a tsp of raw cocoa nibs (cause I love a chocolate-y crunch! this amount is just enough to cover the top)

I prepare the recipe like in the video, but instead I dump the “batter” into a small pile and press it into an aprox. 3×3 inch square, then press the nibs all over the top–and the last but best step, refrigerate it! It will be so coolly moist and rich in an hour or two after chilling. :) Dee-LISH!
