Meet Me On Monday

Hello My Loviiiiiieeeessss :) )

Happy Monday! Welcome to the 31st edition of Monday Mingle – a question answer game we play every Monday to get to know each other better. Each Monday I ask 5 questions, we all get to answer them, mingle around and have fun!

This week’s quote:

The supreme happiness of my soul is the serenity of my mind. Nothing can break it, except my own anger.
~The Dalai Lama

I really love this quote, it helps me to work on my self.  Anger is definitely a tool, it’s a tool we can use in order to teach our selves to be in control of our emotions, what matters in the end is not the situation that brings out the anger, but how we react or don’t react to it.

This Week’s questions:

  • What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?

  • Do you have a favorite fairy tale, if yes which one and why?

  • How many diets have you tried? ( If you have, shortly describe each of them )

  • What is your current eating approach and why does it work for you?

  • If you could give some words of wisdom to each person on this planet, what would you say?

My Answers:

Q – What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

You are looking at it above :) . In Russia, back in the ages when I was growing up ( we call those times Soviet Union Times ), they had these very popular tiny dolls we called ” Pupsik”, they don’t sell them anymore, it was only in Soviet Union times, so I saved a piece of history. The Pupsiks are the size of my finger, and the little one is the size of half of my pinkie.  These three were my favorite toys, that’s why I brought them with me to US when we moved. Me and my best friend, used to make clothes for them out of pieces of cloth’s we collected from around town from our neighbors. The clothes you see above on my little pupsiks are the one’s I’ve sewed my self when I was probably about 8-9 years old.

Q – Do you have a favorite fairy tale, if yes which one and why?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

I absolutely love fairy tales, I still enjoy reading them. My favorite was ” The Snow Queen”. I really loved the Snow Queen because she wasn’t everyone’s favorite character, because she wasn’t very nice. But somehow I saw the good in her, I think she was lonely that’s why she was the Snow Queen.

I’ve always been the child who saw positivity even in the most negative characters, and all of my favorite characters were the one’s nobody else loved. I am this way about life as well, when I meet people that others don’t like very much, I always see positivity in them, because I believe everyone is good and there are no such thing as bad people.

Q – How many diets have you tried? ( If you have, shortly describe each of them )

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

The main diets I’ve tried were:

  • The Blood Type Diet – I wouldn’t even call this a diet, it was more like an eating approach, and it would be the only so called Diet I would ever recommend, because there weren’t any deprivation at all and I could eat as much as I wanted.
  • Low Carb Diet – That was a complete disaster for me, I always felt tired, hungry, irritated and I’ve lost lot’s of muscle.
  • Complete Starvation Diet – I was probably 15 years old back when I tried that, and it didn’t really last all that long, but I can tell you this for sure, the more you starve, the fatter you become.
  • Vegetarian Diet – This is also not really a diet but an eating approach. I was a vegetarian for 2 years, and it was the worst 2 years of my life. I became unrecognizable, I’ve lost way to much weight and all of my muscle, my hair was falling out, I’ve never had any energy and I became very depressed. I realized that it wasn’t for me, because my blood type and body type requires more than just plant protein. It took me several years to recover from this. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I do know some people who can be vegetarians and feel amazing.

Q – What is your current eating approach and why does it work for you?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

My current eating approach is Intuitive Eating. I don’t follow how much protein, carbs or fat’s I eat daily, but I do eat very healthy and I am aware of how much I eat, I’ve never been happier. I also do IF eating approach, which you guys already know about, I absolutely love it, because I am the type of person who loves big portions and I can’t eat 5-6 small meals.

Q – If you could give some words of wisdom to each person on this planet, what would you say?

Meet Me On Monday

My Answer:

I would say to be kind and helpful to others, because that’s what we’re all here to do.

Have respect for everyone around you, especially respect everyone’s opinions because it might not always match yours, and that’s completely OK.

Do what you love, I believe everyone’s mission here on Earth is do in life what we love most.

Surround your self with positive people and people who help you to become a better person.

Compete only with your self and never with others, because each of us have our own way. Thrive to become a better version of your self every day.

Follow your intuition, it will always lead you to the right place.

Understand that there is no problems or troubles, only lessons.  Appreciate every moment, because we’re here as an expression of a Higher Being who want’s to experience life in a physical form.

And most importantly love life because it’s amazing!

You know the drill :) – LET’S MINGLE!

Hugs and Kisses,

Tati

      Yes you seem to be!

  • Katerina Gjorgievska

    Hi guys, happy Monday:

    1) I loved playing with Barbie dolls when I was a kid. I loved brushing their long blond hair and dressing them :)

    2) I had two favorite characters, the little mermaid Ariel and Bert Raccoon (from a Canadian 80′s cartoon called the Raccoons). I loved them because they were curious, creative and full of life. They also had a connection with nature and loved all living things.

    3) I have never been on a strict diet. I just started eating less bread and chocolate, and that worked for a while. I really saw a change when I started working out. It changed my way of thinking as well, I now eat food that gives me real energy.

    4) A month and a half ago, I tried not eating 6 hours before a go to bed. I was inspired by Tati’s posts :) I really think it works for me, because my cravings were the worst at night. I eat an early breakfast, I have a light lunch because I workout after work and I eat a big dinner, so I don’t get hungry after. I was amazed to see how I can watch other people eat right before my eyes, sweets even, and I still didn’t get any cravings. I definitely think this is the best approach for me.

    5) I have to say that Tati answered the last question in the best possible way. I totally agree with her. Also, I try to remind myself every day how blessed I am to have such lovely family and friends, and I would advice everybody to cherish moments spent with their loved ones.

      Hi Katerina,

Could you explain to me how this evening fasting works?. I have , just like you had, my worst cravings in the evening. So it seems contradictory to me to just resist this on will power?

I appreciate everyone’s advice on this matter!
      Denise

      • Katerina Gjorgievska

I used to eat quite healthy during the day, but in the evening I just couldn’t resist and I would always over-eat. I had trouble sleeping too. First thing I changed was my breakfast. I now eat before I go to work, at about 7:30 am. I usually start my workouts around 4 pm and I eat lunch at work. I also eat fruit and nuts at work, while I am having my cup of Turkish coffee. After my workout, a have dinner and I always try to include protein and a lot of vegetables. I stop eating at 6:30 pm. After that, I sometimes have green tea or black coffee (although I’ve noticed that coffee tends to give me sugar cravings). I go to sleep half an hour after midnight, or maybe a little later.
It is pretty much the same during weekends, except I may go to bed a little later and wake up later, but I still stop eating at about 6:30 pm or 7 pm the latest.
It was a little tough at first, but that lasted only for a week. If I really want to eat something during the evening, I just take it and save it for breakfast, that really does the trick for me ;)
        I hope I’ve been helpful :)

        • Jeanne

Katerina, what you wrote is very inspirational as I am like Denise… I always want to eat in the evenings, and the more calories, the better. I really want to fight it, but find it hard to resist. I guess, I should just try it in 1 week, and it will get easier.
Did you notice any changes after you stopped eating late? In your energy levels or anything at all?

          • Katerina Gjorgievska

I still weigh the same, but I am not truing to loose weight and I probably eat the same amount of calories. My energy level is better because I sleep better. I noticed I have less cellulite and my waist is smaller, but that could be a result of the workouts because Tati has included a lot cardio and waist slimming exercises lately :) Also, my face isn’t all swollen up like it sometimes was in the morning and I love the my flat tummy when I wake up ;)

          • http://www.facebook.com/denise.hendrickx Hendrickx Denise

Thanks every one for the reply <3

            Hey Jeanne! Let's give it a try for a week and I'll keep you posted about the results :-) , Man this is going to be hard , Ican't imagine those cravings will disappear;

          • Jeanne

Yes, let’s try it. I have lots of herbal tea and hope that drinking it during my cravings will help. So far so good :) The main thing is to stop thinking about it as it is all in our heads. Good luck, Denise, keep me posted!!!

          • http://www.facebook.com/denise.hendrickx Hendrickx Denise

            Hi Jeanne !

I did the challenge . It was hard but do-able . I cheated once or twice with a passion fruit. I’m going to stick with the challenge for a month now !

            All best <3

          • Jeanne

wohoo! Great to hear from you. I restricted myself too and felt very light in the mornings. I can’t have a very early dinner since I work until late, but I didn’t allow myself anything after the dinner, except tea. However, I was a bit disappointed when I did my weekly weigh up and saw that the weight is creeping up… I want to believe it is muscles, but… hehe, I am not so sure. I am sticking to it too and see what happens! I didn’t even have cravings, the most important thing is to keep busy! Cheers and good luck!

          • Katerina Gjorgievska

Good luck Denise! I just wanted to say that if 6 hours before bed time is too long for you, start with 5 and then after 2 weeks you can add an extra hour. I also wanted to share this video with you guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zNav3NRJkqw. It has nothing to do with the topic of this conversation but I thought since you follow Tati you would like a nice lower body routine to follow Tati’s last upper body “torture” ;) The video is in Bulgarian, but it is in real time so I think you will manage. She is using 17 kg in her bag. Stretching is also included and at the end she is demonstrating beginner variations.

          • http://www.facebook.com/denise.hendrickx Hendrickx Denise

Thaks again katerina, i’m going to check this out!

        • Lili Suke

Hellou :) I’ve also started the Intermitted fasting after Tati’s inspiration, I am already noticing changes, I have a flatter belly and smaller waist and also I think smaller tights :) I sometimes still cant resist at night and have an orange or so, but I try not doing it. I am trying to drink a lot of warm water with lemon and ginger, if I dont want to drink green tea. It really helps, especially in the morning before breakfast :) I hope this helps :) ) and good luck!

      • SuSu

I don’t eat about 5 hours before bed as well. At first it was a bit hard and does take some self-control and some willpower, but I found out that if I just drink water, my cravings go away. I know that doesn’t work for everyone, but it does for me. And I always feel really good in the morning when I wake up. I am always ready for breakfast, but I think because I drink water instead of eating at night really contributes to that amazing feeling in the morning.

    Morning ^-^

    1) Barbie, I loved it a lot. So much that I still played it with 12 years old, but then I told myself that I’m now to old. And gave all my Barbie stuff to another child with hoping she will have so much fun with it, as I had :)
    2) I love almost all, but the most are from the “Brothers Grimm”.
    3) Low-Carb – Almost no carbs, moreover that I felt without energy.
High Fat diet – At start was it yummy but then, it was just to much fat <.<
High Protein – I had belly hurts all the time, it was really boring (because my body didn't used or needed all of this protein) ..

    4) I'm eating the most on carbs ^-^ but for now I'm on arround 1450-1500kcal to get fit for the summer. I eat from everything anything :o ) 3 Main meals & 2 small meals (like joghurt, fruit etc.)
    5) Believe in yourself. Many peopels gives up without even't tried things. Like sport, hobby, food etc. they say direct "no I can't" or the classic "I will try it, just not today"

    Have a nice day :o )

  • Jeanne

    Hi, good day everyone!
    1) As I am also from the Soviet Union originally, I didnt have many dolls, but those “pupsiki”. Some of them were made in GDR, and they were really nice. I liked German dolls, and I played with them all the time.
    2) I remember on some of my early birthdays I got the book Pippi Longstocking and I fell in love with it. It is full of adventures that I imagined myself being able to do. I readd it so many times and never got tired of it. I kind of lived my dreams through this book.
    3) Atkins diet. I always had a feeling of being too full but no energy at all. After it I just never experimented. I took some dodgy Chinese pills and lost appetite, and weight.. But it didn’t. I stopped when I realized that I can hurt my body, and never looked back.
    4) These past few weeks there was a lot of stress at work and hence, lots of emotional eating *lots of chocolate at night). I am starting my healthy eating again, and would like to stay away from eating too late and desserts after dinner. I should get everything under control again. I think our bodies need a variety, but a healthy variety, so I am trying to eat when I want but make sure the food is healthy (except for chocolate that I can’t resist at times).
    5) Advice? Do not give up on yourself. There is so much one can do in this world to make it a beautiful place. Just go on even if you failed many times, learn from the experience and continue no matter what.
    Thank you!

    • SuSu

      I love pippi longstocking too!

    FAVORITE TOY
I love your little Russian dolls Tati. They’re precious! What a great little piece of history to still

have. For me, nothing so special stands out. If I had to choose, I’d say the Barbie-like dolls I had. They weren’t the real Barbie’s; mine were younger and had interracial friends. I cut their hair into mohawks and died it pink with food coloring!

    FAVORITE FAIRY TALE
I think I resonated most with Goldilocks – both because I was blonde, but also because of the lesson of getting things “just right”.

    DIETS
So many! My goodness, where do I start?
Low Calorie/Restriction Diet – This was my first foray into dieting as a teenager and became an eating disorder. Went down to 300 calories a day and dropped to 90 lb at 5’7″ – not healthy!
Body-Type Diet – a glandular approach based on the premise the glandular imbalance makes us crave certain foods and put weight on in certain areas. It was pretty effective and I learned
a lot but too restrictive long-term.
Candida Elimination Diet – cutting out foods that feed candida. Hard! But effective at bringing the body back into balance.
Zone Diet – Eating 30-30-40 style; a balance of protein, fats and carbs. I still more or less aim for this balance, but don’t follow it as a specific program.
Body Building Diet – Ate the same meals 6-8 times per day while preparing for a competition. Took lots of planning and dedication and the meals were boring as hell, but I did get down to single digit body fat. Don’t think I’d go this hard core again though. I enjoy food and variety too much!
Master Cleanse – nothing but water mixed with maple syrup, lemon and cayenne. Did this for 21 days! And I actually felt great. It is extreme, yes – but I only did it because my body was in toxic crisis and I really needed to cleanse out some garbage.
Atkins (low/no carb) – Lost a lot of weight but hated it. Too restrictive long term.
Paleo Diet – No grains, dairy, bean or legumes. I liked this program at first, but long term it felt too restrictive. I like healthy grains and don’t want to eliminate them all together. Plus, I think it’s also pretty acidifying.
Vegetarian – Tried this for 4 months or so. I liked the emphasis on plant foods but without animal protein, I gained about 15 lb and 2 dress sizes! Not fun!

There are probably more but that’s all I can think of at the moment!

    CURRENT EATING APPROACH
I try to eat a balanced diet of real foods in appropriate portions and timed well with an eye to optimal digestion. I don’t follow anyone else’s approach but incorporate all the things I’ve learned from my dieting adventures. I emphasize vegetables and drink a daily green smoothie – which I consider my secret weapon! :)

    WORDS OF WISDOM
You summed it up really perfectly Tati. Be yourself – do what you love – appreciate what you have –
look for the good and follow your bliss. Life is indeed supposed to be good and nothing is more important than how we feel.

On that note – I hope you – and all of your lovely peeps have a super-fantastically wonderful day!

    • http://joannemstein.com/ JoAnne Stein

What’s in your green smoothie if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been looking for some good ones to try and am considering juicing. Any advice? :)

      • http://www.dheanadavid.wordpress.com/ Dheana

        Hi JoAnne,

Sorry for the late response. I somehow missed notification of your message. Here’s what I currently put in my smoothies: 1/2 frozen banana (frozen just makes it colder and slushier – fresh is fine), 1/4 avocado, 1/2 cucumber, 2 big handfuls dark leafy greens (I switch up the kind all the time; spinach, kale, chard, collards…), a 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, 1 oz. wheat grass (I use frozen pellets), and then a bunch of supplements….1 Tblsp each bee pollen and milled flax seeds, 1 tsp each cod liver oil, spirulina powder and maca, 1/8 tsp each MSM powder, turmeric and probiotic powder, and 1 scoop Harmonized Whey protein. I know, it’s a lot and I’m sure you can find easier recipes, but i am in LOVE with my current smoothie recipe. :) My only piece of advice if you’re googling others is to be careful of recipes with too much fruit. Fruit is healthy but IMO too much just turns your smoothie into a sugar-bomb. Having said that, a little canteloupe in your smoothie (like 1/2 cup) makes it taste like bubblegum – don’t ask me why – but it’s kinda fun! :) Enjoy!

  • http://joannemstein.com/ JoAnne Stein

    1) I don’t remember having a specific favorite toy when I was a kid. I liked playing with dolls and also loved those Fisher Price Little People because it was fun to build houses and give them a life and story. I also loved building things with Legos.
    2) When I was young I didn’t read a lot of fairy tales so I don’t have a favorite. Maybe if I had to choose one now I’d pick Cinderella because I recently learned it’s deeper meaning is overcoming adversity through faith and love.
    3) I haven’t tried any official diets. I’ve always eaten pretty healthily and never monitored how much of each food I take in. If I want to lose weight or get into top shape then I’ll just avoid junk food more than usual and sometimes count calories, but nothing too extreme. I recently became a vegetarian and I still don’t focus too much on protein, just eat whatever sounds good, and it works for me and I feel great.
    4) My current eating approach is just eating whole, non-processed foods with a focus on fruits and vegetables. I don’t eat a lot of dairy because I don’t like it and it makes me sick sometimes. I also avoid flour for the same reason and sugar. Also if I know I’m going to a restaurant for lunch or somewhere where I’ll be celebrating and eating a little more than usual, then I’ll eat less for breakfast or cut back the day before so I can enjoy the food and not go overboard. It’s all about moderation and listening to my body.
    5) My words of wisdom to people would be to love one another and realize that by loving another person and helping them or giving them something that you’re actually helping yourself. Don’t view other people as the enemy because we’re all one. There’s no competition and this is an abundant world so there’s enough to go around.

  • jt

Ahhhh Tati, i really love the fact that you’re still keeping your dear and precious dolls :) Your story with them is sooo endearing, it almost made me cry :_) Call me silly whatever… :)
I’m very attached to my dolls/stuffed animals too. My oldest ones are a yellow rabbit maybe (it’s so funny you can’t say what it really is) and a turquoise-greenish bear. Of course they have names, but I want to protect their privacy LOL… :) They have traveled with me everywhere I’ve been, and it included moving countries and all that (except for short trips of course).
I have a few dolls and more stuffed animals, but those ones are the ones I’d like to be incinerated with, so to speak. One of them is “staying” with a very very dear friend, who is usually alone, so that doesn’t feel *that* alone :)

Have a beautiful day Tati and everyone!!

  • Kharla

    Hello Tati,

What was your favorite toy when you were a kid? Never was too fascinated with dolls :p maybe my soccer ball?

Do you have a favorite fairy tale, if yes which one and why? Love Cinderella, guess we have a lot in common.. Still waiting for my happy ending :)

How many diets have you tried? ( If you have, shortly describe each of them ) Mayde the primal paleo diet.. to be honest didn’t suit me completely, as a mom of 3 I didn’t get enough nutrients that my body requires

What is your current eating approach and why does it work for you? I just listen to my body, I consume enough carbs (sweet potatoes, my ezekiel bread, etc) veggies and fruit and my daily protein( fish, tuna, eggs, some chicken, pork etc)

If you could give some words of wisdom to each person on this planet, what would you say? Trust your CREATOR with all of your heart and everything will be in control ( you’ll find inner peace and love) that u will provide to others :)
    Blessings my dear!!!!

    Hello Tati and everyone!

I haven´t mingled with you for some time. But I will today and hopefully will have more time also the following Mondays.

Tati, your toys are absolutely adorable. It´s obvious they were very loved by you :) And I totally love the tomato face picture. Perfect! :D

    My Mingle:

    1) TOY – Plushy grey cat
    2) FAIRY TALE – Insanely sad princess, Three veterans, Cindarella (the version with 3 nuts), Snow White… I loved and still do love too many of them ;)
    3) DIET – Non. Only when I was 15, I had to follow a no-alcohol and no-fried food diet for 6 month.
    4) EATING – Everything in moderation. But I still don´t eat enough vegetable and I would like to eat healthier too (right now – too much animal fat, bread, dumplings, pasta, pizza, sugar… ups :/ )
    5) WISDOM – smile :)

    Have a nice day everyone!
    Kate

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

      Hello :)

Sad princess? Which one is that?

  • SuSu

CHILDHOOD TOY: my grandma crocheted me this thing that she called a cricket, but I never thought it looked like a cricket, so it was my green guy. I absolutely loved him. I didn’t really play with him per se, but he was my favorite. I played outside all summer.
FAVORITE FAIRYTALE: the chronicles of Narnia were always a favorite growing up. I always loved when my parents would read them to us. The movies just don’t compare. And I love the radio theater of the books as well. They are just absolutely fantastic. And I love Cinderella too :)
DIETS I’VE TRIED: I have never really “dieted” but in the last 4 years, I have cleaned up my diet from the first couple years of college (when it was pretty bad). I feel blessed to have had whole foods grown in our garden growing up with chickens and eggs we raised. So I ate good nutritious foods until those couple years in college. Then I cleaned it up and started eating more veggies and fruits and whole grains and felt really great once again. It is the only way I eat. Just be smart about it and use common sense.
HOW I EAT NOW: not as good as I want, there have been some reasons why but I am looking forward to being able to get back on track in a couple weeks due to some circumstances of not being able to eat how I did.
WISDOM: appreciate what you have and be content in every situation

  • http://www.lovingfit.com/ Lvette_1

Hi everyone…I hope your team won the superbowl. Bye bye Canadian penny!

    1. Periwinkle shells…we played so many different games with them.
    2. Don’t have one. I did not grow up with fairy tales.
    3. No diet for me. I was a vegetarian for 15 years but did not consider that a diet…I just didn’t eat animal products. For the past 8 years I try to stick to 40-40-20 eating plan. I’ve tried eating 5-6 smalls meals but gave up on it and went back to how I was raised… eating three meals. I eat fruit anytime I want them.
    4. There is no bad food for me, I eat what I want in moderation and enjoy it.
    5. Take things as they come…openess.

  • sedindriuke

Tati, what you mean with intuitive eating? You feel hungry and eat or you just ask yourself if am i hungry .. or just oh i wanna peanut butter so i eat it?

i was bingint with sweet potato brownie and tvarog (in Russian ) cake all the day and im stuffed like turkey and my training flew away and now … stupid stupid stupid things that you have cant pull yourself together and eat like normal person: normal food and binge sometimes.. i used to be much better , but i believe whole30 made me a little bit schizo with food… hell..

  • Lili Suke

    Happy Monday mingle:-)
Faborite toy: i used to have a duck, which i took everywhere with me when i was a child.. Now i have a wooden owl, which i take with me wherever i move or live:)
Favorite. Tail: the little princess:-) beautiful story
Diet: i have never been on a special diet, i just tried and still trying to clean my diet.. I am reading a lot about raw food diet, which i might try, but i dont really want to restrict my favorite meals :-)
My food approach: ive statted the intermitted fasting after i heard about it from you:-) i am seeing good results and i am also feeling better:-) i am trying not to eat sweets and salty snacks and eat clean most of the time:-)
Advise: you have summarized it perfectly Tati. I agree with everything and will remind myslef day to day about how important these things are. I would add one more advice: dont worry too much about little things or even big problems. Try to learn from everything what life gives and trust your heart.:-)

What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?
Probably my collection of My LIttle Ponies…I had about 30 of them, I believe. Now they are set up at my parents’ house and my nieces play with them. :)

Do you have a favorite fairy tale, if yes which one and why?

For some reason I loved this one called The Goose Girl. I also loved the 12 Dancing Princesses.

How many diets have you tried? ( If you have, shortly describe each of them )
a million. Atkins–tried that. DIdn’t do anything. Not convinced it’s healthy at all. The Zone–this was really a low-calorie diet. According to their calculations, I was supposed to eat 800 calories a day!!! But it did say that if the calculation came out to less than 1100 calories, it should be 1100. But 1100 calories is still waaaay too little for me, esp when exercising. South Beach I tried, I think, though not seriously. That one more resembled a healthy way to eat. Um…just low calorie, quasi-anorexia diet in high school/college. Not fun. I’ve gone vegan, which is actually great for cleaning up what I eat and incorporating more veggies and fruit. Oh–I also did a raw diet. I wasn’t toooo strict, but I was about 90% raw for about 3 months. I found it very appealing, delicious, and healthy. The only thing was that I found it hard to exercise, even though I had a great deal of energy throughout the day. I think the lack of complex carbs just meant my energy stores for something like a run were really low. Now we are starting to try the Paleo diet but it’s SOOO HARD! I can’t eat anything! AAAGGHH!

What is your current eating approach and why does it work for you?
Between you and me, I’m not very committed to the “paleo” thing, though I think it does force me to eat more clean, which is good. In general, lately I’ve been sort of intuitive myself, though i DO need to cook more myself and be less lazy.

If you could give some words of wisdom to each person on this planet, what would you say?
I’m not in a space to answer this right now. Kind of down emotionally and spiritually, so I’m basically avoiding answering this question. Hopefully I’ll be in a more hopeful place later and can give a good answer.

    Thanks Tati!!! xoxo

AWWW My little pony was so sweet, loved it. but I only had one :( lol.
Atkins, yeah I did that I totally forgot about it, worked perfect until I start eating bread, gained everything back.

      Regards!

Hellou. I am also trying the raw food diet…I am kindof 80% now, but still cant get rid of some cooked meal, jogurt and stuff i love :) Its interesting to read, that you felt weaker working out.. hmm..i will pay more attention to this from now on :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I actually really loved it…oddly. It’s one of the most restrictive diets, but I found it the easiest to follow. I was fine with cheating on special occasions, but I was really fine for most of the time. My staples were avocadoes (I had one with a little salt for breakfast–YUM!), apples and almonds. I ALWAYS carried almonds with me so I could always eat something. If I was really in a pinch I’d buy a bunch of bananas, LOL. My eating style changed, though. I did have my avocado breakfast and I would make usually some kind of raw slaw for lunch, but I snacked all day long. I think 80% is awesome. Ideally, I’d like to be at least 50% because there is sooo much nutrition and goodness in raw fruits, veggies and nuts. Good luck! I wasn’t training like I am now at the time. I was just running. If I did it again I would include cooked meat. :)

Hi Kendra..Thank you for sharing your experiences :) I also find it very easy to follow and very time saving, as I dont have to cook so often :) )I’ve just noticed that I eat much more bananas:) This is a great excuse, because i lov love bananas :) I also include some cooking meat or tofu, sometimes some eggs or cheese. I think 80% for now works very great :) 50% is also great! salad as a side dish can incredibly fill a stomach, i was amazed :) ) thank you :)

Hello everyone, having a great start of the week full of energy :)

    1. Favorite toy: I loved “Little´s people village” from fisher price, it was with tiny toys like houses and cinemas and little cars. I have always loved everything in tiny. So far my dream is to have a doll´s house, the classic, fancy ones with everything so tiny and perfect.

    2. Favorite Fairy tale: My mom used to buy me little sort of comic books but they were about classic stories, so I guess my favorite fairy tale is “The little mermaid” from Hans Christian Andersen, I love all his stories, specially this one. The little mermaid is very sad because she died to save her love, however I really like it.

    3. Diets. Pffff I tried one kind of diet when I was 15, they (the clinic) gave me some kind of pills, it worked, but I couldn´t keep on losing weight, it was kind of hard to eat specific things without knowing what was happening to my body.

The other diet was with some pills (I know, I know) I honestly don´t know what they had, but the worked perfect, I lose tons of weight and I really never gained it back, however I knew that was not the best approach. Honestly, I was kind of overweight and those pills helped me to stay in my weight. I stopped taking those pills 10 years ago and I never gained that weight back.

    4. Current eating approach: I am still trying to figure it out, it is hard because when I tried to eat healthy my sweet tooth craves for cakes or cookies or ice cream :(

    5. Words of wisdom: If i had to give someone a piece of advice I would tell them to be themselves, whatever they want to be, they will learn eventually what is the best for them. I will tell them to take care of themselves, love their bodies and read a lot.

    XD

my favourite toys were horse figurines, i always loved the beauty of horses and still have them. no fairy tales really inspire me, but i do adore ariel from the little mermaid..I have always focused on healthy eating, and have experimented over the years but definitely have found the elimination of grains/legumes/dairy/processed foods to be the way to go, I was Paleo for 18 months but have recently switched to high carb low fat raw vegan, i have always had a sweet tooth so eating unlimited fruit (which i was previously limiting) is refreshing, and i love veggies so this is sustainable for me! plus the ethical side of meat eating really bothers me, i always supported ethical farming but no matter what the slaughterhouse is what it is….i went to visit one, and i feel that if people want to eat meat they should come to terms with what it does to sentient creatures not pretend it is all nice and pretty like the commercials make it out to be. my words of wisdom…if you are not going to help than at least don’t make it worse! you only know what you know, but once you know you have to do better! ttyl

#1 – I don’t remember if I had one true favorite as a kid, but as I grew older I put more value into the toys I found myself wanting to keep. The one I have the most sentimental attachment towards is a big white, furry teddy bear– I’ve had it over 20 years now. :)
#2 – I think the old story of the Little Mermaid, was always moved by the kind of unattainable but honest longing she had. I prefer the version with the bittersweet ending, where she does die but goes on to a better place… I feel that was most ‘representative’ of how life usually works out.
#3 – Haven’t ‘officially’ tried many diets, just mostly short-term experiments going low-carb, high-protein, juice fasting, etc. I didn’t stick with anything for long cause they all sucked lol.
#4 – A mix of intuitive eating/planning/spontaneity. Getting enough healthy food takes work, but I also need a relaxed approach that lets me enjoy something different when I really want it. I don’t like set meal frequency either, usually prefer a mix of small, easy meals/snacks and one or two cooked ones every day. And nutrition-wise, the more natural whole foods I eat, the more balanced I feel… too much processed sugar (like more than once or twice a week) tends to wreck that…
#5 – Be kind, humble (i.e, the opposite of prideful/close-minded), and assess what you value most– then resolve to never take it for granted.

Those Russian dolls are just darling! I love learning about the kinds of things kids in other countries play with :)

Favorite childhood toy… hmm I really liked Popples and My Little Pony dolls.

Favorite fairy tale: I didn’t much care for fairy tales as a kid. My favorite story that my dad read me daily was Rabbit Finds A Way. Loved it! Still do :)

Diets: I’ve never tried any sort of “elimination” diet or fad diet tbh.

Current eating approach: I eat whatever I want in moderation! I don’t deal well with large amounts of dairy, so I really keep that out except for goat cheese and greek yogurt. Cow’s milk, cheese, etc I avoid. I will eat fresh, local cheese curds at times though, just very very small portions. I have been trying IF because of my wonky schedule and it is working pretty well.

    Better late than never!

What was your favourite toy as a kid?
My favourite toys were my hot wheels cars, loved to drive those things, I used to make roads for them in the dirt, and build houses for them to park at etc

    Favourite fairy tale?
Hmm I don’t know about fairy tales but I absolutely used to love Aesop’s Fables

How many diets have you tried?
I tried lots but wouldn’t even make it through a day, I don’t do well when they tell you exactly what to eat. I’m too picky. I joined weight watchers and thought I was going to die I was so hungry. Basically one meal for me was what they said were my points for the whole day. The only diet I was successful at was Atkins. But I was finding I was probably eating too low carb, it was hard to keep up. I think I overthought it.

    My current eating approach?
I currently eat the Paleo Approach or primal. it just makes so much sense to me. It’s not telling me what to eat and when, just basics, eat good meat, lots of veggies, good fats, anything you think your ancestors would recognize as food. If they wouldn’t recognize it then don’t eat it, if man think you should eat it and are pushing it then definately don’t eat that! Mother nature knows best! I also do a modified fast, probably about 13 hours, and I eat two large meals a day, with usually one snack. But I’m not so strict that if I’m hungry I eat!

Words of wisdom? Hmm not sure I’m qualified ;)

What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?
° pens and pencils! I loved drawing. also soft toys for sure. I had a duck called “Piepsi” and let him speak with my sister :)

Do you have a favorite fairy tale, if yes which one and why?
°The star-money. I remember this the most. I understand lot of fairy tails just today. they have lot of truth within and perhaps I could understand it with my 6th sense what it means. if you have nothing the universe will always have goodness for you

How many diets have you tried? ( If you have, shortly describe each of them )
°I did nutrition changes the past 6 years. vegetarian, 5 days juice fast, formula, skipping sugar + bread,+subbs, raw vegan, vegan, IF.

What is your current eating approach and why does it work for you?
°plant based diet .actually greens, nuts & apples. milk products, bread destroys my skin a lot.

It sounds weird but in my life I had/have this wish “not to eat at all” or to eat minimum as possible.

If you could give some words of wisdom to each person on this planet, what would you say?
    °Open your heart!

    Mingleeee! :) ) I love MM’s :) ))

    1) Favorite Toy: About 20 years ago my mom bought me a plushie elephant (I picked it myself, there was a green one but the blue one was soooo cute and I was in love with it instantly). The best thing about it is that I STILL HAVE THIS ELEPHANT and here it is: http://copygr.am/makavelina/321553539682704460_144470934/ :) )

    2) Favorite Fairy Tale: Not a fairy tale really, but there is a book called Children from Bullerbyn by a swedish author Astrid Lindgren. I loved this book so much and actually I still do. My boyfriend bought it for me last year, it was so sweet :) ))

    3) Diets: I love food, so I never did any fad diets. But currently I am living on a Paleo Diet (no grains, no legumes, no dairy, nothing processed), for almost 2 years now and it works for me perfectly. it is more a lifestyle than a diet. I hate the word diet, because a lot of people think “STARVING” when they hear “diet.” I believe in Paleo approach, I do believe grains and dairy are not good for our bodies and since it really works like MAGIC for me and my boyfriend, I am sticking to it. :) )

    4) Current eating approach: PALEO. Clean eating all the way. Meat, veggies, nuts, healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nut butters, olives, coconut oil), a little bit of fruit. Trying to minimize my fruit intake to avoid too much sugar (sugar is still sugar, even though it comes from fruit and not from Oreos). Works for me :) ) Paleo eating fixed my boyfriend’s back acne issues and my facial acne is gone since eating this way. I believe in this approach. :) ))

    5) Words of Wisdom: Eat clean, get enough sleep, lift weights, use sunscreen and BE YOUR DAMN SELF!!! :) )))

I love every sentence of your words of wisdom, Tati! A lot of them I’ve come across in other places, but the way you worded everything really resonates with me. Thanks so much for sharing. :-)
